What is the point of seeing Phillip Nolan talk about graphs that we cannot see ?

Why have they not sorted this out at this point?!
Could we just have the graph with the signer and just him doing voiceover ?

I'd thank this 1000 times if I could.

I think they've managed to show them clearly once, just to prove they exist!

RTÉ out doing themselves!!! 6.1 couldn’t start with the vaccination stats no?

For the first time since March I switched off the 6.1 News . I just cant handle the constant need to dramatise and bring negativity . Caitriona Perry took the absolute biscuit a few days ago trying to force Ronan Glynn into negativity
He actually tried to reassure the sick people will be looked after and hospital while under awful pressure can still look after us

A 25 year old was among the 132 who died between 6th and 12th January. 92% were 65 or older.

Once vaccines are rolled out to the over 65's and frontliners it's going to relieve a huge amount of pressure off the health system, will be crisis over, Miller time :D

Here in Poland, if you have tested positive your not considered a close contact for a period of 3 months after the end of your isolation period

Calm down, that's likely to be the end of March or even into April!

    Its only three months

  • Seeing celebrities come out upon a Covid diagnosis and feel the need proclaim "I'm devastated, I don't know how it happened I was extremely careful and took all the precautions" leads me to think the opposite. It's not something they need to defend themselves from.

I'd be thinking June at earliest before the at risk groups are all covered, it's coming though.

They plan on stepping up testing for health care workers who are close contacts.

Hopefully this will help relieve some of the staffing issues in the HSE.

R0 of 1-1.3, also good to see.

R0 has to be at the very least a little biased due to not automatically testing close contacts (in some cases close contacts with minor symptoms)

Each person has more power to prevent themselves passing it on than they do of catching it themselves.

To prevent yourself from catching it also depends to a large extent on other people.

    Yes she did.
That's my point, brushed under the carpet.

It was when they were worrying about shortages , and she was taken off public view for a while after .
    But we remember her...

I was really surprised last week to be in very close contact with a hcw wearing just a surgical mask. It seems mad. Her face was inches from mine at times. ( I had an ffp3 on). In a dentists they’re wearing full PPE

They use several different models for estimating R, including models based on hospital admissions, ICU admissions and deaths.

Think it might have been one or two Irish which spread it though.

Dentists are always using higher as they are generating aerosols
And presumably their patients are not wearing masks!
Nurses don't wear high protective masks unless there is that similar need and if you were not wearing a mask she may be wearing higher protection .

What was the context if you don't mind me asking ?

If we are in level 5+ and it's still not below zero, what the flip are we going to do? What's left to close to keep space in the hospitals? I guess better enforcement is all that's left

It's too high to level it off right and maintain this level, thousands of cases a day. That means active cases are still going straight up
