Crazy scenes again with loads of photographers taking pictures and all bunched up together in the US federal parliament and shown on live tv.

    America is mad.

You've been deflecting and distracting ever since the vote which didn't go your way. The corona virus thread is that way ➡️. This thread tonight is about the twice impeached U.S. President

Maybe already posted but I see Deutsche Bank has cut ties with Trump.
    Might be significant?

He has the fund that was collected for legal fees for the fight the steal cases.

Pretty sure he can use it however he wants.

Strange anyone was stupid enough to think that funding was for the legal cases in any shape or form.

Great to see American democracy standing firm.

Looking in, it goes a long way to redeeming the events of last week and in a way some of the crap that's been pulled the last few years.

America has gained some respectibility back again.

I have to say, this latest address from Trump is the most presidential I have heard him sound in the whole of his tenure. It would be nice if this was the last we heard from him as POTUS, and not him pulling a Memento and going off about the stolen election, once again, at a rally next week.

If you voted not to impeach you are treated like this. Crazy

What is so wrong about it?

He is making the very clear difference that this is a man that was willing to fight for his country abroad, but when faced with clear threat from people he likes then his commitment seems to crumble.

If I was Mast, I would be asking what it was that I was actually fighting for, what I lost my legs for?

    Because it wasn't democracy.

Indeed but it's a step in the right direction that this disgrace of a president has been twice impeached despite turning his party into a personality cult.

    This is a good result.

Why is this impeachment a big deal ?
If convicted he loses the right to run again.
    He loses his security detail.
He loses one million in expences per year.
Trump doesn't give a **** about any one of those.
He incited a mob to storm the capitol resulting in the deaths of 5 people.
It's criminal charges Ina criminal court and a 10 sentence Ina jail is what the man deserves.
    This impeachment is a joke

    Deutsche Bank debt more likely.

probably less than 5000 nutjobs in the 75m who voted for Trump. GOP need to be careful who they side with .

And one week before he leaves he makes a Presidential speech.

Although whoever wrote it for him had to include a reference to an attack on free speech to get him to prompt read it.

It was a recorded statement. Would love to know how many takes it took to read it properly

Still, it's the most Presidential he's ever done. Not that it matters now.

It hurts his brand which he cares about.

If criminally convicted, and he was to try and write or talk about the events surrounding it and makes any money from doing so, I think the son of sam style laws in various states would also leave him open to civil suits or any profits handed over to the government in some cases as part of plea bargains.

Trump was far left before he ran for president. All this far right stuff is an act.

You have a knack at minimizing.

The call to make an armed show of force at 50 state capitols and the nation's capitol is still in the works.

The multiplication of events around the country on the 17th will generate statistically more chances of violent confrontations and casualties, if they happen.

In Ireland, there are probably more than 5000 crazies who would make a run on the Daíl if given the wrong signal. There are at least as many in your average midsize to large US city, of which there are hundreds...
