True story. Let us at least enjoy the moment.
Can't remember the last time we were top at this stage of a season :pac:

Man Utd join Spurs, Leicester & Southampton as the teams who have gone top of the table this season, other than Liverpool of course.

When Spurs went top, they played Liverpool at Anfield soon after. The mir reign at the top didn't last long as after that game, Liverpool were league leaders.

Hopefully Liverpool can do the same thing again this Sunday.

In a month they'll be miles ahead.

I'll enjoy having been top for a short while after the last few years.

And well deserved at this stage to be honest. In a season as nuts as this, to have 7 wins and a draw from 8 away games is genuinely impressive.

Interesting setup for the next game at Anfield though - Liverpool the only team unbeaten at home, Utd the only team unbeaten away. Will one of those runs end, or will we end up with a somewhat predictable draw?

Incredible that it's taken so long for someone to overtake Liverpool considering the amount of injuries and luck that's gone against them this season

Whatever about United/Liverpool fans being unbearable, Sky are going to be doubly unbearable until Sunday evening hyping the absolute fúck out of this game everywhere.

Man Utd fans acting like some plucky underdogs after spending hundreds of millions lol.

Man Utd are up where they should be with the money they have spent.

Be a massive failure for Liverpool to not win the league considering City's first choice strikers have been injured or out for a lot of games, their bad start and the amount of points Liverpool won by last season. Be a huge regression.

This is a joke right?? Have you not seen liverpools injuries, like playing at entire season with no CBS for one

many United fans scoffed when Cavani signed but results seam to have turned since he arrived - great signing.

    Absolutely

Liverpool are still the best team in the league. For some reason and a few months later and some fans are saying they are no longer the best it seems.

No Agureo (best player) for City has had a a long term impact and yet they still are well in contention.
Liverpool failed to capitalize on this IMO

How does last season have any bearing on this season? Are Liverpool getting points from last season thrown into this one as well?

    Silly.

Your right, Liverpool are not firing, City have no strikers, if utd don't win it from here it will be one of the biggest bottle jobs in Premier league history.

Yep especially since Liverpool have had a full squad to pick from all season. Klopp needs to be careful.

I mean, it's been a weird season. But a team isn't top after Christmas without being somewhat consistent. Since early November United have been the most consistent team in the league. They deserve to be on top, even if it is just for 5 days.

That being said, Liverpool haven't exactly being lighting the world on fire. Against Tottenham they were on a good run of form. They haven't scored a goal against a senior Premier League side in nearly 180 minutes. It took a decently strengthed starting XI with amazing subs coming off the bench to see off a mostly under-18s Aston Villa. The idea Liverpool are going to definitely win on Sunday is baffling, honestly. I think the most likely outcome is a draw.

Liverpool haven't won a league game in ages, utd are the form team, especially away from home. Utd will win this handy unless ole holds them back.

Neville & Carragher are going to awful to listen to in commentary too. Really hate having Neville commentate on Man Utd games, and Carragher on Liverpool games. For different reasons I might add.

Well ole will hold them back so that's your answer. Cant see how klopp wouldnt have it figured at this stage.

    ''NO it's MY team.''

Doesn't matter anyway lads, Everton going to win the league. Thanks for taking part

Matip being fit is probably key for the game sunday.

Liverpool will raise there level no doubt & will dominate midfield. But if Matip is out then a massive weakness at CB.
Probbaly Henderson will play at CB i suspect if Matip cannot make it.

Thread is a dumpster fire with the lame attempts of Liverpool/United fans trying to wind each other up.

Who's fault is it they've no centre backs? United have 3 international CBs injured tonight.

United have been a shambles for years and plenty of times this season. Top of the league. I'd be embarrassed if I was the English, European and world champions from last season.

This is it really. Every game is just a check in on if Matip can play. If he can, even having Gomez and Van Dijk out isn't the end of the world. But if he can't, it messes up everything else, pretty much regardless of the opposition - either by having someone rubbish beside Fabinho, or having both Fabinho and Henderson missing from midfield, which is a total disaster. #prayformatip
