They were "intimated" by Ferguson were they?? In their dressing room before matches was it??

And they weren't intimidated by Busby, Shankley, Paisley, Wenger, Mourinho etc in times passed too

They're not intimidated by Klopp or Guardiola these days.

Stop talking absolute manure and put your tin foil hat back on.

Be interesting to see if the goal celebration thing is adhered to this evening. Seems to be a growing bone of contention.

Strawman BS from sections of the media that should be concentrating on REAL issues about Covid in the UK, of which there are many.

    A complete distraction.

Footballers who have continued to hug when celebrating goals despite the worsening coronavirus crisis have been “brainless”, according to the chair of the key parliamentary sports committee.
Knight, the Conservative MP for Solihull, said a decision on whether elite sport could continue was “a matter for governing bodies and the health experts”.

It’s an easy thing though... of course as an act it doesn’t really make a real difference to transmission within a club in practice - but the visual of it is powerful. It’s a really easy public acknowledgment of the importance of taking this thing seriously amidst a cascade of cases, and really it’s dumb that clubs aren’t jumping wholeheartedly on board considering their own precarious position at the moment. Like, it doesn’t make sense that teams haven’t gotten ahead of this to look progressive, and in doing so never even risk becoming a strawman for Covid negligence.

    My point still stands.

It's not best practice, agreed. It gives a bad example, sure, but it's still bull**** from the MP.

However, these guys are tested to within an inch of their lives, several times a week, and although some got Covid from apparent socialising over the Xmas, that are relatively sure to be Covid free, and giving a teammate a big or a clap on the back is of no higher risk than standing beside an opponent at a corner for instance.

Mr Tory MP would be better served bringing his party leader to heel and to account over their poor management of the pandemic since day one.

BS or not, if guys like Knight choose to make an issue of goal celebrations, football needs to sort it out because they have the power to shut the game down again.

Edit: Looks like the issue isn't going to arise tonight anyway:P

I've been saying this months that players and management are embracing opposition after matches and then at half time you have staff spraying disinfectant on the goalposts and corner flags. It's completely idiotic.

Of course you are right that the media couldn't use their own brains to see this and only start talking about it when some politician brings it up.

Simon Harris is monitoring the situation...

In Ireland you had old men not allowed to attend their wife's funeral while down the road a factory will be open or 30 kids sitting in a classroom together.

I wouldn't look for consistency when it comes to Covid responses.

The players train together every day, share changing rooms, mark each other in training etc. etc.

Getting mad about celebrations is utterly moronic. And stopping them for 'optics' is ridiculous too.

I was watching a few of Ben Fosters YouTube videos and one of the things I noticed was how often he fist bumped people. It’s like the fist bump has encouraged him to greet people more. There was no way pre-covid he was walking into a changing room and shaking all the physios/kit men hands. I know they are all tested but surely they should be told fist bumping the likes of the bus driver, who probably isn’t in a strict bubble like the players, isn’t necessary.

Bruno wins Player of the Month 4th time in a row

    Best player in the league

Bruno wins Player of the Month 4th time in a row

    Best player in the league

    *On current form.

KDB is the best player in the league.

Edit: it's actually his fourth time winning the award in a calander year but its not four times in a row looking at the PL website. He won it in February, June, November and December.

He has won 4 POTM awards. But not in a row.

What's the record for POTMs won in a row?

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

He's won it 4 of the 7 months he's been eligible to win it. That is unheard of.

Henry and Ronaldo only won it 4 times each across their careers in England.

Only five players have won it more times than Bruno.

    7 - Aguero
    6 - Kane and Gerrard
5 - Rooney and Van Persie

Kevin De Bruyne has never won it. That does surprise me.

On current form Bruno is far and away the best player in the league and its not close. Hard to argue that De Bruyne is a better player.

No argument that on current form he's the best player in the league.

It's very easy to say KDB is the better player, he's been performing at top class level in a stronger league and in the CL for a long time now. If Bruno keeps going as he is I'm sure he'll be in the conversation long term.

I think you used to say great players need to win the big trophies before they can be called world class so until Bruno wins a PL or a CL we can't say he is at the level of KDB whos done it at the highest level.

Actually was Bruno in the Portugal winning team?

That form has been 12 months. His entire PL career

This whole *on current form excuse doesn't really fly with me

    Id certainly argue that ,

Bruno has had a great impact no question but for large parts of games in his totally ineffective which is fine for a forward or an inside forward but Bruno is a midfielder or is he ?

He's getting the credit of being a midfielder but he is almost a second striker or just off the striker in the way he actually plays and his positions ,

If you gave the mangers in the premier league a choice between Bruno or KBD I'm not sure many would chose Bruno ,

I personally think KBD and Bruno are completely different type of players ,
Bruno will never dictate a game like KBD but KDB will never score as much as Bruno

Again Bruno is a great player but saying the best in the league far and away is a stretch I feel .

I'm not knocking Burno in saying that just my opinion ,
What position would you say he plays in out of interest CM , AM is it almost like the old number 10 position ?

Hilarious to see a glorified penalty taker who goes missing in all the big games wins Player Of The Month again!

And only the most blinkered would see Fernandes anywhere near to De Bruynes level on the pitch!

Nothing glorified about it. He literally takes the penalties.
