I dont think that scaring people is worth it just to point score

That poster has previously made unsubstantiated claims about the HSE covering up loads of reinfections in healthcare workers so I would take what they say with a gallon of salt.

You are coming out with an awful lot of statements there considering you say there are no numbers.

So either you are just making stuff up based on your personal perceptions or there are actual numbers being made available for you to base your statements on...which is it?

I was actually just trying to get a point across.

There is a perception that the government is doing well, but very little to actually back this up. There are nice phrases like "All contacts reached within one day (Median)".

Which is it? if one day is the median then clearly how many are not being reached within one day? why are there no actual facts?

I'll answer this shall I? Give too much and they will pull it apart, give the people enough to make it look like you are doing a good job and they will be happy.

fudging figures is something the HSE are supremely good at.

    Yes at last!

A lot of confusion, not helped by that Gavin something or other on Twitter who misunderstood the whole concept.

We've always wanted to be best at something and now we've done it.

If you said First or even Top it may have been slightly humourous but Best doesn't work in the context.

    1/10.

Where'd they get 4929 from those swabs?

Edit sorry just saw previous posts explaining!

Maybe people would act appropriately and lessen contact if they knew what strains their actions are putting on the HSE. There is a cause and effect here. It's incredibly frustrating at the moment working in the hospital knowing this surge was preventable.

How many times must it be explained that the most recent swabs do not, and will not, equate to today's case numbers?

If it's true I would much prefer it is posted.
It might prevent some people from burying their head in the sand about how serious things are now.

I've said it over the weekend and I'll say it again now. We will be close to 1000 cases by this weekend. Our dramatic increases was because of Christmas and we will have an equally dramatic decrease. Hospital figures will likely be at a peak this weekend. I think our new cases peak was well over a week ago.

Stopped at a checkpoint earlier taking the cat to the vet. Just told them where I was going and that was it. Sure you could just tell them any old shíte, how would they know you're lying?

Tony has the worry Meter out again

Their over focus on negativity, raising the fear in the population actually backfired as people switched off for December.
We need to hear the way forward - projected outcomes for Level 5+, what will the vaccination programme achieve by say March, etc.

Why no? Nothing else to do for about an hour. Beats just asking repeat questions.

8% of today's cases are swabs from the last three days, according to Fergal Bowers who was quoting Tony H.
