How long does it typically take to hear if you're successful at interview? What happens next, assigned a new OOM?

I heard about a week later and was given an OOM straight away. You then just have to wait to reach your OOM

24 hour turn around after interview for me, with thankfully higher OOM

Nice one. Do they tell you your batch number as well? Trying to make sense of all this

Cheers! Fingers crossed it works out. Been offered another job but not formally signed the contract yet, hoping to stall them out til I hear :o

My county was strange. I was oom 3 after stage 1. Up to December they had only called oom 1 and 2 to interview, so I presume that was batch 1. So now I'm batch 2 oom 1

Ah okay, thanks. I was 1140 in Dublin and honestly never thought I'd even get to an interview.

County Meath is now at OOM48. So it’s moved 6 places since just before Christmas. Fingers crossed it keeps moving like this!

Anyone have an update on OOM for Co. Sligo? Thanks.

Just got my result, can't believe it was so fast.

    Batch 19, OOM 17.

No idea if that's any good or not.

Have we any idea how many it is per batch? If it's 100 or so I'm assuming I'm outta luck... :(

You're in more luck than me! I'm a few numbers lower than you in the OOM and I haven't even interviewed yet.

Aw I haven't a clue how this all works honestly :pac:. Best of luck with the interview, they're fairly sound and it's all handy enough stuff!

I dont think there is any set number, I think a few pages ago someone said it varies, anywhere from 50-100 but they get through people really quick, up to 25/30 a week. It's worth emailing PAS and asking how many are ahead of you although I would probably wait until they get a little closer to your batch number. Dont be disheartened as they move quickly.

Hi, is the batch only relevant to the specific county you have applied for? I only interviewed on Thursday and I'm batch 5. Thanks

    Hi all.

Recently was informed that my current TCO contract is not going to be extended.
Would you advise applying for the upcoming 2021 permanent campaign when the application process opens? What are the chances of being assigned to a different department than before? Has this happened to anyone else and was there a positive outcome?

I would assume so as Dublin is on batch 16, I think every county has their own batch number.

    Hi I am me123
Sorry you didn't get extended but a lot of the time TCO contracts don't get extended you only hear of the odd one getting extended depending on department.
The CO panel as far as I'm aware comes out every two years but last year's CO was only a year for whatever reason I don't know? Also apply for TCO as you can always refuse or take it and if your CO comes up in the meantime , you take that over TCO. Good luck

Would anyone know which batch Limerick is working off at the moment. I’m batch 7 OOM 2. Just curious whether it will happen or not

Thanks. In some ways I feel I may have had a better chance of being kept on had I been assigned to a different department. It's difficult to know really.
Also, I worry I wont get a good enough reference from my last stint as TCO which may harbour my chances at getting another CO job.
Anyone else ever in same boat and how did it turn out?

I emailed PAS other day they are up to OOM 25. I'm confused now I thought your numbering would have been placed by now????
Maybe you are the recent batch of people that have been called ? Limerick has been very slow moving since the summer .

Always ask for a reference before you leave as it's much easier next time applying for public jobs. Don't feel disheartened I'm sure you done a good job . I'm sure your reference will be a good one at that .

Thank you for the kind words. I finished up yesterday but didnt think to enquire about a reference before I finished up work.
Is there any way I could get a reference from my last TCO position or who could I contact?

If you have any contact details for your manager a telephone number or em and just ask them for a reference . They will be obliging as they do this all the time for TCOs. It's just so much more easier than trying to go back 6 months later and this person might have moved dept even. Do it now while they are there and you remember .

The oom that you’re referring to is the stage 1 result. Stage 2 gets assigned a batch and new oom.

Would you recommend listing this (brief) employment on my CV or would it be best to leave it off completely seeing as my contract was terminated just after its 8 week duration?

I would put it on my CV mark it as a temporary contract of 8 weeks. Employers don't like to see gaps in your CV .

Yes of course. Would you mind me asking what your stage 1 OOM was but if you don't wanna say that's fine too.
