'Suspended' implies temporary I thought. Permanently suspended? Are they saying he's blocked forever?

    With any luck..

FCC as well social media giants need to take huge chunk of responsibility.

They through Fox News, Sinclair media, Newsmax, OAN, talk radio, Youtube, Reddit, twtter, Facebook have allowed this far right, conspiracy theory movement to grow pretty much unabated.

Instead of clamping down early it's continued to grow to a point that now 50% of Trump voters and 25% of registered voters overall believe everything Trump says and think he has been sent by god to squash the Democrats paedophile sex ring.

Permanently suspended is Twitter speak for permanent ban.

That would be my reading of it.

The ****ing sad part about it is that there *may* be more people that will speak out against him, now that he has been muted.

Fcuk him. There are lies and there are truths. People have brains and they have eyes to see. It's not rocket science. You have been and are a deluded moron or you think Trump is a turd. Sin é.

Pointless banning really. The damage is long done at this point, he has turned all those supporters fully feral by being allowed to do that shít for as long as he has.

Can you imagine being able to just vibe on Twitter again? Like it used to be, in the olden days, before him? Before you didn't scroll down every time with the needling tension of opening an sti test result?

Has been muted? No he hasn't.

He and his acolytes are just being driven onto yet more subversive echo-chamber platforms, ones that cannot and are not monitored to the same extent by those who try to keep him and them in check.

Places where crazies get together and make plans to hurt, kill and destroy. That worries me more than any one gobshyte being banned off of Twitter.

Trump has conceded and will leave office on Jan 20th.
Impeaching him will not just relight a smouldering candle but ignite an inferno.
There wouldn't be a return of violence to disrupt the inpeachment hearings and final vote?
If they can't get through the ring of steel then Congressmen and Senators when they return to their home states will need double or triple their current protection.
The MAGA crowd are mad as hell and they will make the next 4 years impossible for Biden et al.
Biden is going to be foolhardy during the next 4 years if he visits red states and isn't prepared for serious civil disturbances. Impeaching Trump is a huge mistake. He has conceded and Biden is taking over. He's talking about getting special powers and the Democrats are baying for blood. He's talking about reparations for black slavery which white conservatives will refuse to pay. He's talking about taking away firearms.
He never heard of "Come And Take It" then?
If Trump is banned for life he will just switch from Twitter to Parler and take his followers with him. And if Biden goes too far red states like Texas may simply secede and take other red states with them and elect Trump as their President.
Be careful what you wish for.
If Trump were to go on trial it would lead to a firestorm.

Sure everybody was scared of the Trump totalitarian system.

This is all very black mirror-ish isn't it. A large group of Tech Billionaires deciding what information the rest of us can see, to the extent that they exclude even the President of the US.

The precedent set now is worrying, twitter will quite possibly get rid of Bernie Sanders, or some other "radical" leftist politician in the future.

The first amendment is pretty weak, only stopping government censorship and not private censorship.

Yeah but the qty of people who hear their message just shrunk by 99.99%.

Absolutely they will pass notes around and set off smoke signals and flash lights from the side of one mountain to another but they will do it as part of a small group which will be (or certainly should be) easier to monitor than is the case on the likes of Twitter and FB.

When they suspended him for a few hours earlier this week he might as well have been on the dark side of the moon. Even if he does eventually figure out other channels, his reach is severely fragmented compared to his footprint on twitter.

First amendment always had a clause about inciting violence

Agree with this. Far too late. The genie is out of the bottle and it's going go be very difficult to put back in.

Freedom of speech my hole. Twitter did **** all regulation of their platform. Every Trump comment had thousands of bots replying and retweeting.

The Twitter blogpost justifying the expulsion makes some good (and worrying) points e.g. his comment that he won't be attending the inauguration came just after a post potentially encouraging violence, and is almost an open invitation to his supporters to target it.
