I have to do the same, called to watch a novie, SOLO. in cidentally dont get too hung up on a bouquet for SAORVIEW when you run abm and it gives you a list of bouquets can easily add your own SAORVIEW BOUQUET using the remote and its a good learning point. Its only a few channels after all. I'll tell you how to use the remote.

" Throw hard at Tv is it " ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 126 ✭✭sqsqswqdwdwq

Yea. I think I remember how to use Bouquet Editor from the PC Browser and create my own Bouquets. I just thought that ABM might give more bells and whistles.... I could spend weeks on this thing ... so addictive. BUt great learning stuff too!

Ah, I'll have to leave it til tomorrow. There's a Saorview recording currently running and another timed after that....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,824 ✭✭✭swoofer

I just realised that your abm may not complete because of the SAORVIEW error so just disable the saorview tuner run abm and then enable it again.

And are you using the NCM image or the one on this thread?

    I'm using NCM's image at https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=108529042 .... really nice.

I disables the Saorview tuner, ran ABM (gave me an NIBS error, or something) enabled Tuner C, and then ran the 2 scans again using Ch34, and Ch35 and I have all the Saorview stations now. Happy camper now - at least for the moment - thanks!

Hi, glad you got temporarily sorted. You need to follow the instructions on this post, otherwise you will lose the Saorview Channels, overnight.

The reason you were getting an error in ABM is that it wasn't picking up the Saorview Channels, this normally happens when the correct local transmitter hasn't been entered in ABM.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 126 ✭✭sqsqswqdwdwq

NCM - thanks! But the only place I can find an ABM function is by a long-press on the blue button. When I do that, I get a "Please use an extension..." menu up that offers 10 sub-menus. #3 is the AutoBouquetsMaker Scanner. That #3 choice just allows me to select the function which, as you know, goes off and scans the Sky UK channels (gives me 358 video and 58 audio, but I get the error message of "Tuning Failed ...Tuner C, etc, etc.
I can't see for the life of me, where I can adjust the variables in your ABM Providers pic (Saorview Region.jpg). I thought I looked everywhere for that screen, but apparently not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,824 ✭✭✭swoofer

you are in the wrong thread as this one uses the high horse brigade image which is a more fuller and better image. you should really post in the NCM image and then other NCM users may have had the same problem.

For now can you go menu, setup, service searching, and see if the word AutoBouquetsMaker, is in there, exactly as I have typed.

It's not a competition between images, they are aimed at different users.
Maybe you should try my image, you might like it. :)

For others, who might have read this:

My image has all the the functionality of the THHB's but is set up and configured differently. His image is designed for enthusiasts and people who like playing with technology. It is excellent for such users and is where I started out. However, the feedback I got was that it was too complicated for family use.

I created a new image, initially for my own use, and some friends. It is targeted at family users that just want something that works. Users that are not interested in tweaking settings or having to do manual updates when channels change. Following lots of positive feedback, I decided to make it available on Boards, for others who might be in a similar situation.

To setup your Saorview Region in ABM, using my image:

    Menu - Blue Button - Setup - 0000 - Reception - AutoBouquetMaker - Providers

Swoofer- See attached - I hit Menu (Short Blue Button)/ System/ Customise (Setup Enigma2)/ ... and I do not see menu/service searching,

I downloaded the image from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10HrC_qe60aTRn-XlO4Uh27swXFo2zZXQ.

The function that I got came from https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=108529042.

I do hope that I do not have the NCM and HHB jerseys mixed up. Not sure how I could have done that since I don't believe I ever had access to HHB image.

NCM - than I'm in the wrong shop.... I must have, how I don't know, downloaded the HHB image. Since the previous post, I've browsed tru the various pages looking for your latest image ......Would you mind sending me the link to your latest image? Many thanks!

Do this quickly, look at remote, find button that says menu, forget about coloured buttons, hit menu and take a pic, then post here but when you hit menu go to Information, then about, take a pic. There is something odd going on

Oops I had a look on the link you posted and that is the NCM image, and I blooming well noticed you have 2 boxes.!!! And you posted on the NCM thread.

NCM I tried your image and I dont like it, that is why this thread has gone belly up.

All the posts by sqsq should be over in your thread.

NCM has done a lovely cut down image but you must put questions re his image in the correct thread.

When I hit Menu, I get the attached pic. Then, when I hit "i" for Information, I get an "X" up in the left corner of the screen suggesting that the function is not available for that screen

Yes, I have two boxes, coz I'd much prefer the 6.3 image and functionality than the 6.4 canned image that came from the 'disappeared" fella that I got the box from. All my above posts relate to the NCM 6.3 box/image

I still don't know where you're getting the 'cut down' bit from. It has all the functionality of this image with Internet Radio, IPTV and other bits added. What is different is that the complexity is deliberately hidden from a casual user behind a password.

Without wasting any more of your times, I'll just re-download your (NCM) image again from https://drive.google.com/open?id=10HrC_qe60aTRn-XlO4Uh27swXFo2zZXQ tomorrow? and see what happens.

I'll get a red card if I quarantine much longer today.:)

NCM what happens when someone presses the menu button on the remote with your image? Is it what sqsq posted? If not post a pic of your image when menu is pressed.

It is a cutdown menu, as Sqsq posted. That is deliberate.

To get the full settings menu you press menu, followed by the blue button. You then use the password 0000 to access Setup or Plugins.

Quick follow-up - I re-downloaded your 6.3 and re-imaged my Tiviar box. Now, when I press Menu, then Blue, I get more choices where i can get into ABM/Providers/.... as you describe in the a above link.
Haven't got time right now, but I'm looking fwd to having another go in a few days when I get back. Thx

you are in the WRONG THREAD you should be in the NCM thread and I linked you, you are filling this thread with rubbish. That is not the way this board works and you wont get good answers. I assumed you were using the same image as me but you are not.

Please post in the thread for the image, seriously you will get a better answer.

He right. This is the enthusiast thread. The other thread is for the specific modified image you are using

I cannot get a signal from Signal Finder, nor can I get a signal from any Saorview station, UNLESS I use either Channel 34 or 35 in the Tuner Config screen.
Johnboy1951 - Please see attached clearer pic of Tuner Config screen
I did a search on the Saorview site, using my Eircode or GPS function, and it says I need to use Ch 34 or 35 from Kippure - if I'm correct in saying that from the attached screen-shot

The first basic thing you need to establish is what transmitter is your aerial beamed on ( pointed at ) . No point in putting post codes on sites that don't know your local environment such as hills etc. Then just manually tune in the two mixes for that transmitter.
Don't bother with bouquet makers, just use dreambox edit and make your own. The less stuff on your box the better.

You did not read my post, he is in the wrong thread and using a different image, all his queries have no RELATION to this thread, go over to the proper thread, this has got silly. And if you had even read back you would have seen he has been told all the information required you are just repeating .

The NCM image has its own thread but the OP did not make it clear from the outset that he was using the NCM image.

I use this thread but as of now I have given up, it has been ruined.

Given that this thread is now 183 pages long, perhaps it would be a good time to start a fresh 2021 version for the alpha. I don't have one myself and only dip in here on the off chance I can help out with a more generic query.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,956 ✭✭✭greasepalm

I do like a good vicks thread to clear my head.

Yes greasepalm. I wonder how vicks would work with covid.

I think that a generic thread, covering all Enigma2 boxes would be even more useful. I think that all of our thinking has evolved, and it would be a great resource for everyone, new and old.

I'd be happy to help out, if others were on board. My experience is limited to a couple of boxes... :) Ideally a mod would help out, so that key posts could be updated, as necessary.
