I don't get losing the rag over someone not wearing a mask.

It's completely ridiculous and a waste of your energy.

Not if they have covid though and are in your personal space. Their wearing a mask is to protect everyone around them, not to prevent them getting covid. But you know that already.

I have honestly forgotten my mask a few times and have turned around and gone back home to get it. Yes it's inconvenient but that's my problem. Why should I wander around the shop putting other people at risk?

Not having a go a you op. Just a general observation.

Put people at risk of what?

Are you a confirmed 24/7 case of covid?

You have to have the virus to spread it

The thinking of people in general is interesting to say the least.

Obviously Dr Tony with his let’s all pretend we have the virus has sunk into some people s thinking

Most are wearing masks, aye, but there are stupidly high numbers of these who appear to be mouthbreathers; apparently they were born with a rare condition where their noses are not connected to their respiratory system.

anytime i spot someone doing the above , they are almost always quite elderly

Jesus Mary above, I had assumed the 6k announced was some massive backlog from Christmas. Thank you.

Seen something today that if we scaled up for US population out daily figure today would have been 400k while the US figure today was like 220k. Gives you an idea of how bad today was.

Some, yes, but goes across all ages from my experience. I think many of the younger ones need the extra support to keep their lower jaw from flapping in the breeze.

    So. Bats, eh?

    Bats need to be culled.

Gloves. We should all be wearing surgical gloves. Smeared with sanitizer. And we should watch Youtube videos to learn how to take off the gloves.

We should give other humans dirty looks too. Treat everyone with contempt and suspicion.

Over time we should get up on horses that are 20 hands high and learn to judge others.

    Tolerance should not be tolerated!!!

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Just came back from my local Tesco. Deliberately went there late to avoid crowds. Three lots of people without masks - one couple with a few kids in tow - you've got to wonder at this stage. They're either stupid or selfish or a bit of both at this stage. Thank these clowns for contributing to the situation we are in. Probably had packed houses over Christmas and will wonder why ma or da are drowning in their own fluids in weeks to come.

Absolutely maddening that people don't give a ****e given the stark news today.

I genuinely think some people are deliberately being ignorant at this stage. There is a growing cohort that don't want to know or care.

The no masks thing to me is a reflection of someone just totally not giving a sh*t, so it's a tad annoying. But it's hardly a surprise to anyone that the world is full of ignorant arseholes.
Even during lockdown 1 there were still gangs of teenagers everywhere, it's still the same now, and I don't think it will change no matter how grave the situation. Ireland is never going to be able to lock down like Taiwan and the likes, we can't even take our rubbish home from parks and the beach when the weather is nice, we just don't roll that way.

Argos open today, how are they essential?

Quite a few items in Argos that are hard or impossible to find in other outlets, particularly in areas like computer hardware, ( I needed a 1TB SSD recently to solve a computer performance problem) and their trading model is probably about as Covid safe as it's possible to be, no browsing, you don't even get in if you don't have an order to collect, if there's too many in there already, you wait in the queue, payment can be made online before arrival, and there's very little chance of passing it on with the item, as there are so few people handling it before you get it, and with the number of branches they have around the country, it's often easier to find an Argos than a lot of other outlets. I am far happier using Argos than some of the other major retail chains around the place.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

What gets me is the amount of middle aged people who want a lot of restrictions but consistently meet up with their grandchildren.

And they justify it in their in a nice Irish way and still believe they are abiding by the rules.

I just don't agree that my life depends on some stranger in a shop wearing a mask that might or might not walk near me.

This sounds like an Italian/Spanish style lockdown from March/April.
Stay in your gaf for six weeks except for shopping, style lockdown.

    Yet interestingly

confirmed COVID-19 cases notified in Ireland from 20/12/2020 up to midnight on 02/01/202

    Median age (years) 35
    Mean age (years) 38

With figures up to nearly 7000 today, expect up to 100 deaths a day in a weeks time.
Its going to be a rough couple of weeks.

Are we back to discussing middle Vs mean Vs median Vs average again? :)

Any chance the North could put better controls on arrivals via NI airports? Would be nice.
