Just came back from my local Tesco. Deliberately went there late to avoid crowds. Three lots of people without masks - one couple with a few kids in tow - you've got to wonder at this stage. They're either stupid or selfish or a bit of both at this stage. Thank these clowns for contributing to the situation we are in. Probably had packed houses over Christmas and will wonder why ma or da are drowning in their own fluids in weeks to come.

Absolutely maddening that people don't give a ****e given the stark news today.

    If it is a risk....

But it has an absolutely massive cost.

Most definitely, these lockdowns are running costs into astronomical figures. Necessary but expensive. These pandemics are no craic.

Usually when I meet someone without a mask it's because they honestly forgot. They are always very apologetic when you highlight it. The only exception I have encountered are itinerants who blatantly ignore me (am I allowed use that word anymore?).

But don't let me interrupt your bile :)

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Most people are wearing masks, you're wasting your energy and it just seems like this is somewhere for you to release your frustration. It's very rare I see someone without a mask in a shop these days.

Think it depends where you are, its all housing around here, very little commercial.

Lots of house building going on in the midlands towns I’m familiar with . Two new schemes launched in one of them selling fast.

Yeah I was surprised given the stark news and the fact the country is probably in the darkest place it's been since the foundation of the state. Anyway rant over.

Jesus Mary above, I had assumed the 6k announced was some massive backlog from Christmas. Thank you.

Most are wearing masks, aye, but there are stupidly high numbers of these who appear to be mouthbreathers; apparently they were born with a rare condition where their noses are not connected to their respiratory system.

The cases are high because of Christmas, not the odd person you see in Tesco without a mask. They were only going to go up but of course nobody expected them to rise as high as they did. Lesson learned for future pandemics at Christmas. It pisses me off seeing someone without one too but you'll send yourself into a grave if you stress out like that over it every time.

I have honestly forgotten my mask a few times and have turned around and gone back home to get it. Yes it's inconvenient but that's my problem. Why should I wander around the shop putting other people at risk?

I know it is no craic. What is your views on life saving drugs which cost 500k a year per patient?

I don't understand the fascination with people wearing or not wearing masks in supermarkets.

Hardly anyone was doing it from March to June.

Most people are doing it now, bar a few people. Most who aren't wearing have usually forgot their mask.

    It's a non issue.

UNBELIEVABLE Croke Park testing centre , 6pm tonight had 25 people queuing inside in the foyer, snaking around to go through after registering, it's a tiny area have been there before, very Unsafe, parents with their kids with them too, not sure if they were all getting tested.

My dad is 87 years old , we were terrified for him and said we would not stay so they brought him straight in. If you did not have covid going in you had a greater chance of having it coming out.

should have kept the queue outside, even get up marquee to shelter people but dont corral them into a small area. I want to complain and raise this Where? Feel really annoyed.

People better off not getting tested if this is the case. Disgrace.

It's a serious issue. It's a question of manners and compliance. None of us wants to be wearing a mask. If I'm in a shop and any of you present near me not wearing a mask, you'll be wearing one shortly after. At both ends that you talk through. There's no room now for sh1tetalk and exceptions.

I think they probably cost a few Dollars to manufacture and have been priced up thanks to a US government structured over the last century by corporate lobbyists that are interested in money over social welfare. Not sure how this relates but there's my opinion. Good thing we don't live there, ehh?

What we need to do right now

    1 Enforce the borders

    2 Ban all immigrant shopkeepers

    3 Eliminate all illegal gatherings

4 Fine all the above people

    Somewhat bizarre post

I mean they have their masks but forgot to put them on. Or they left them in the car. When highlighted most people immediately put them on. Shops like Centra even have spare disposable ones for people that forgot too.

99.9% wearing masks in the shops I frequent.

But back then shops had much fewer numbers allowed in, operating a one in one out after a very few initial customers entered. People also gave each other more space and were more afraid so used more sanitizer more rigourously

I don't get losing the rag over someone not wearing a mask.

It's completely ridiculous and a waste of your energy.
