    Hi all,

Any advice on narrowing down topics for Tort? Just starting and a bit overwhelmed in regards to the amount of content that I need to cover between now and march. Was going through defamation, that topic is so chunky in itself can't imagine doing that 15 times over.

    DOC/SOC
    Causation/Remoteness
    Defamation
    Defective Products
    Nuisance
    Occupier's Liability
    Vicarious Liability
    Damages

    Hope this helps!

Thanks a million, really appreciate it!

Look at the grid and map out what topics you can leave out. I left out about a third and sat the paper comfortably.

Btw this is what I studied for the last sitting of tort based on what topics I thought were due so that could slightly differ this round so definitely do study the exam grid and try to make predictions!

Could someone explain to me what is the deal behind Constitutional case note questions?

How do people have any idea what cases could come up in order to study? Is there a list somewhere of them? Is it all cases spanning from the depths of time? Are they just recent cases from the year? Are cases asked in one exam ever repeated in another? .. very, very lost.

Very hard to predict but if you strike it lucky, very easy to answer. As you go through the course, you need to read the detail of the cases that you encounter rather than just the main legal point established in the case. Always have the case study question in mind when you are studying and think about:

What are the main facts of the case?
What was the legislator trying to achieve?
Why did the Supreme Court decide as it did?
What were the implications of the decision?
Have there been any more recent developments in this area?

Constitutional is hard, there are very few shortcuts available.

Were we not told we'd get an email a week before results? 11th is a week away and nothing...

Would it be best to focus on topics that are certain to come up would you say? (Also is this the same for EU? They're my two last ones, plus crim which seems like a breeze)

Criminal is a nice subject to learn because it is interesting, it is no way a breeze, you need to know most of the syllabus, there can be numerous topics in one question.

EU I think is an easier paper, the questions are very predictable. I didn't go near the case note questions and i was able to do 5 questions no problem

For constitutional there is no pattern, anything can come up and often it’s not even apparent what topic is being examined!

EU is so predictable on the other hand. Judicial review, FMOG, FMOW, Direct Effect, Institutions.

Were we not told we'd get an email a week before results? 11th is a week away and nothing...

The website says "The results are provisionally scheduled to be released during the week of 11 January 2021. An email will be sent to all candidates approximately one week before the results are released to confirm the date.".

So it could be any day this week that we receive the email, that's if:
    1. The results are actually coming out the week of the 11th as it's only a provisional date; and
    2. They stick to the one week before email - although they do say 'approximately' so it's no guarantee... I think for March there was only a 3 day warning given.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we got an email on Friday saying results will be out on the Monday (but actually this might even be a little optimistic...)

Hey guys, Just wondering does anyone have up to date exam papers/report for property? I only have as far up as spring 2018. Thanks a mill!

I am in the same boat if anyone has more up to date materials?

For the August results there was just an email saying they were available!

Is there any application deadline as of yet for the March exams? Can’t see any on the website!

I heard a rumour that there might be an extra sitting over the summer. Any truth to this?

Hi, I have just started studying company and I'm finding directors very overwhelming. Is there any absolutes to directors and are there some aspects that can be left out? Not sure where to start

I doubt it, not to say that there won't be, I just don't see them having made a decision on that already! Where did the rumour come from?

    Hi

I was in the exact same position when I first went through directors. If you look at the exam questions - the problem questions asked are all almost identical and require most of the same cases. The essay questions are also quite simmilar. Would focus my study on thoose areas that come up and maybe a brief understanding of everything else.
