I've now heard of 3 seperate positive cases in people I know in the last 24hrs.

I think the numbers are at least double per day of what's being reported.

Same, I've a friend who has it, and his parents, sister, sisters OH and his uncle all now have it too. What I couldn't believe was when his mother tested positive, he told his boss (because he's a close contact of his mother as he still lives at home) and asked if he should inform the 5 or 6 other people he had been in contact with in work, and his boss said "wait until you test positive then we will tell them. Don't want to cause panic". God forbid they might be told theres a high chance they're infected and be allowed to make informed decisions about going to Tesco or visiting their granny :)

    Whats the current backlog?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,149 ✭✭✭✭Gael23

There should be strong advice now for older people in Donegal not to leave their homes like in March and April

The whole population of Donegal must have contracted the virus at this stage

What's the real case numbers for today? I take it loads were added on?

Where can the swab data be got?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,122 ✭✭✭blowitupref

600+ people in hospital with Covid too.
The way its going it will top the April highs in hospital early this month. The main hope is that we don't get close to the death count of April.

Swabs were 4502 so cases announced are actually lower.

We have a bigger backlog now.

Doesn’t matter if they do it or not - my mum (74) has told me she hasn’t a notion of staying inside again like last March and she will still be going out to do her shopping

Louth is looking in bad shape too. The smallest county up there with the worst figures.

Before the contract tracing stopped how far did they go to?? Just people in direct contact with a positive case?

    Backlog of about 10,000

Id say its pointless looking at the county breakdown if numbers are being added from the yule log and not counted from the actual swabs.

Read and weep.... we’re actually massively under reporting at the moment. The swab data should match give or take 5-10%

The vaccine is not far off.
I would have a strong word!
