Never a penalty but that makes it all the more sweeter.

Sit back for the weekend now and watch the rest face off.

Right at death villa player heads on goal, MCgUIRE with both hands raised stopped it. But no replay, or check. Looked clear as it happened, but no replay so I dunno.

Watch the two Twitter videos, it's as clear as day to me. Right leg nudges Pogba's left leg causing him to trip himself. Clear foul in my opinion

There both running Luiz right leg is on the ground, Pogba kicks Luiz then himself

I still refuse to believe that United are capable of winning the title, they have neither the defence nor the consistency to do it. But at least its good to know that they are back, with what is now a good 40 minutes of crying and moaning about a penalty decision, and the resurfacing of conversations about net spend.

Clear handball by McGuire there, but hey that's okay, its Man U .

Think we have a winner for stupidest comment of the night. Not a chance you saw that.

Well done to Var too. Right call for Peno. We were due one after a few went against us recently

If it was clear, you'd have seen a Villa protest.

    Relax.

Things are getting tasty. We may have the makings of a title race for the ages. Either Liverpool get to 20, or Utd pull further clear on 21.

    Set up perfectly.

Man Utd with the advantages they have & very good in attack too are favourites now imo.

The ref thought it was a penalty, Var agreed it was a penalty.......
It was a penalty and a great result.
Good game to watch and thought both teams played some great football.
Villa gave a good showing for themselves....... I can see them upsetting a few teams this year....

No one saw it, or replayed it, or looked at it.

I dunno what happened, other than they blew the game up.

Great the last joint top side with us didn't last long. Let's see what united are really made of, played some good football tonight but incredibly fortunate I thought.

Given both teams are level on points and games played are you saying you think Man Utd are a better team than Liverpool?

A United Liverpool title race could be on the cards after all.

No doubt it will all be handled amicably...

Matic is a fairly clumsy oaf of a player isn't he? Just seemed to be going round kicking people and loves flailing his arms about the place too.

Good enough up front, but that defence will leak too many goals I think.

When is VVD back? He will be a huge boost to Liverpool.

Man Utd are in better form atm. Liverpool no fit CB's.

Depend if Liverpool sign a CB in January. Atm as things stand I would have Man City favs. Man Utd probably slightly 2nd favourites as they have so few injuries & getting plenty of breaks too

Villa are a great side. Much respect for their manager by the way.
Villa fans should be happy with the progress made overall
Not easy to beat, a few teams got smashed this season against them
Excellent 3 points for Utd considering

    Of course they're capable.

It's a slightly strange League. The points total to win will be below the last couple of seasons. No team is bullet proof. So it might just need a team to go on a run. I believe if Liverpool had at least one first choice centre half, they'd be clear favourites, but that's irrelevant. They don't.

Utd have the Player of the Season so far, are scoring goals, and are defending ok when needed.

They've enough to beat most teams in this League, and that might be all you need.

The lad on Sky who’s not Andy Cole says “Pogba clips the back of his calf there so there is contact”. Good God, brainless.

Everton flopped today. Huge chance to get a good foothold in the title race.

Moaning about decisions Man United get serves no purpose. Win against Southampton and then beat them out the gate in two weeks and go from there. Liverpool are in control of their own destiny, all you can ask for.

Personally I'd much rather win a league our greatest rivals think they can win too. Sweet as they come that. Beating City is nice and all but nobody gives a sh!t about new money.

Jesus, United had 23 fouls in that game and only 4 yellow cards. Most of them came in the last 20 minutes. I think that's what is going to let United down this season, collecting cards and getting suspended. It's what cost them the game against PSG with Fred. I know you have to make the odd tactical foul to slow down the game but at the end of that game it looked like United were verging on desperate with the amount of fouling and Villa had more than a few chances.
