The Irish flag beside MM looks manky. It's filthy. Could do with a clean.

    Clean your screen.

He's hardly going to be excited about telling us that we'll be going into lockdown for another month

I find it very hard to listen to him.
Leo was a much better public speaker.

Will he tell us how many vaccines are left sitting in the fridge?

Nobody will adhere to that anyway so it's pointless.

    Nobody? Care to bet?

Schools are safe, but they're delaying opening them for a week. Why delay if they're safe?

To have 10 full days of full social distancing to knock the current spread on the head.

The government was told, clearly, not to open hospitality and relax rules on house visits. They went ahead and did it. They deserve criticism.

They were warned and they went against what they were warned about - and not for the first time.

Government has a raft of other considerations, but when the public health crisis becomes so acute you are forced to put everything to one side to deal with it.

It’s great to be a hurler on the ditch and criticise I guess.

    Full level 5, sense prevails.

6 at weddings, 10 at funeral.

Education just mentioned there now as essential again; schools are safe apparently. Great stuff. Strong leader. Amazeballs.

This afternoon Dundrum shopping centre was jammed. Loads of youngsters sitting around eating fast food takeaways.

But that sort of environment is much much safer than a school. Much.

I went to RTE player. But I just get advertisements for businesses. It says a lot about Ireland.

The public service broadcaster can't stop the business ads for a speech by the Taoiseach. Jesus.

He said we are going back to level 5 like last March so does that mean construction sites are closed next week?

People need to calm down. We've had 2200 deaths out of a population of 4,700,000 and most people were over 80 and with underlying conditions.

Stop scare mongering other people and yourselves.

Ireland is doing just fine and the vacinne is on the way.

Calm down people. Once the hospitals can manage we are fine.

Unfortunately, unlike your handle, there's no CTRL,ALT,DEL in real life if the game isn't working out like you expected it to, and there are people out there in the real world that are having to make life changing decisions as a direct result of the way that the situation on the ground is developing.

The numbers presenting at hospitals is escalating in ways that have not been seen previously during the life of this pandemic. This latest phase, with the arrival of the UK variant is going to put the hospitals under pressure within a matter of days, not even weeks, the first massive increases have already been seen with the figures released today.

If "Ireland is doing fine", there would be no need for the significant changes that have just been announced from Government buildings.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Shouldn't Micheal Martin be isolating because he's a close contact of Charlie McConalogue who tested positive a week ago.

If they think they are a risk they should advise the government. Are you serious.

Very. They advise not decide. They have no great control over what the government ultimately do.

Up to parents to sort this. It is not the schools responsibility to curtail people's kids

They made a bad decision, lots of people could see it at the time, they were advised by their own experts not to do it. Absolute fail on their part.
