Mayo just fizzled out, thought they might do it this year.

Well done to the Dubs strong strong team.

I haven’t watched much football in a few years but as an aside why is it acceptable for opponents to taunt and shout at an opposition player right in their face? Seems very immature. Have seen it a few times there from both teams.

Yes the money helps and the setup how about we get people up to Dublin and not drag Dublin back

Yeah, relocate a half a million people to another county
    1M actually

In fairness to mayo they beat the handicap, should be a prize for that alone.

Is that what football has come to?

    Classic mayo choke job.

No way, way too harsh. This is a new Mayo team and they did really well back to come back from losing the early goal, and they were right in it until the superior Dublin bench came on. It was a great performance from them overall. With some better decision making and some better performances from the new forwards it could have been closer.

So there we have it. Dublin wanting it more since 2014 sees them dominate football. Add this to the severe volunteering, no one else stands a chance.

    MOTM, David Coldrick.

    See ye all in 2021.

I've no love for Mcmahon but that's a fairly ****ty comment.

Whats the point now in the football championship, Mayo did absolutely nothing wrong, lived with Dublin for 60 mins, exactly the same as the rest of the top tier teams. At the drawn game last year Kerry were visible knackered against 14. What really is the ****ing point of the football championship!

6 in a row, what an achievement, we might never see something like this in Irish sport again

Mayo did put it up them and no doubt will be back. The result shows that Dublin can be beaten

    Are you going Amish?

Around the county skilled young lads are thinking I wonder if I could get a trial with the Aussie rules right now.

    Mayo bridesmaids yet again.

Far better match than the hurling imo, not sure why it's getting called a dreadful spectacle.

Delighted for Dessie, great to carry on the winning mentality. Dublin in 2nd gear win it. I await the “neutral” input. Mayos big men went missing again, O’Shea fails to score in an AI final again. COC disappeared in the 2nd half after a superb 1st half performance.

Worst championship in a long time
Pity the GAA ever played it, snooze fest
Dublin are some team all the same and fair ****s to them

Easy fix for all this anyway. Next year, Dublin can only have 14 players. Win in again at they're down to 13 for 2022 and so on until it's just Cluxton v Mayo in 2040.

Dublin piss home in second gear. It was like they didn't even care for periods. Mayo had no business being in any final. Relegated in the league and needed several dodgy referee decisions to win Connacht by a point. Semi final versus a D3 team

The best team at 50% beats a slightly above average team all out. We move on to next year

In fairness, no other stadium in the country could take the crowd.

Mayo might not win it for another ten years but they will win eventually , Dublin wont be at this standard forever

again no consolation to Mayo followers but sport is cruel

I would advise everyone to withdraw any sort of funding or support for the gaa until this dublin clown situation is dealt with.

And dublin I would have some support for you if you openly acknowledged this joke championship. Jim Gavin admitted to it in private with other managers a few years ago but NOT in public. Time to change that now dublin

The most damning thing is Mayo don’t even look too disappointed. Knew they were unlikely to win anyway.

Troll banned for a disgraceful comment.

His comments should be deleted too and where he was quoted .

If Mayo did not play Dublin.. In the last 10 years.. I'd say it's realistic. To say they would of only had 2 competitive games in 10 years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,503 ✭✭✭✭Mad_maxx

thought it was a pretty good final until the last fifteen minutes

  • Dublin many levels above the rest. That was a team coasting.

Once Mayo dropped the ball at the 21 on the 55th they turned on their game.

Philly coming on in the end, lol. See if O’Connor and O’Shea might swap their digs for a medal.

Two Brians’ excellent second half, Howard particularly the difference, freed up Fenton to dictate.

As an aside to the two Mayo players above, the rest played and battled well. Missed their chance in the first half and the 10mins with the extra man. Good newcomers who should be around for a few years. Relying on O’Shea to perform in a final might be a thing of the Past for them.
