I don't think they will either. Interesting tweet from Sean Kelly last night. The tap will be turned off, probably take 10 or 15 years to level off but this won't last forever.

Kilkenny or Kerry even at their peak scraped victories, needed late points and goals to win games.

This is different. Dublin always seem to be about 5 ahead at half time and the result is never in doubt after about 20 minute of play.

The played a full half of an AI final with a man less last year and still seemed like they were the more likely winner at the end.

I think this dominance will require intervention to assist the other counties.

I know the greatest team in any sport in history have always been beaten. If teams don't believe then they don't have any reason to compete in the competition. Mayo probably should have beaten Dublin either 2013 2016 or 2017. Same as Kerry 2019.

Did you happen to watch any of those matches?

Nice Sunday morning out there, all Ireland final on the horizon in 2 weeks. Anything can happen in a final one off game. Kerry had their opportunity last year in the 1st game.

Us Dubs supporters like the players can ignore the noise outside The Pale. We support our county to keep doing what they are doing & enjoy this era of dominance.

Now can we talk about today’s semi final, sharp conditions for both teams, Mayo to creep over the line & into the final.

Hardly matters who wins today being honest.

    Totally agree
For all their dominance Dublin have really been made to work for it in finals against Mayo and the first day against Kerry.

I've avoided this thread since full time yesterday as it's the same old regurgitated shyte.

I am expecting a handy enough Mayo win, they just have better, more experienced players who play a very intense game when needed.

in the response to this virus in any way as they are an absolute cluster f**k.

Cluster f**k is a kind way of putting it to be fair - I'm UK based and it is a disaster. Some areas that have higher rates than where I'm based are tier 2 and are allowed to let people into games.

At least they have allowed full panels to be present at games now, which is a step in the right direction, but I'd be of the same opinion to wait until at least next season to allow people back into stadiums

Anyway, what are the key match ups I should be looking out for in the Tipp v Mayo game?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Tipp haven't played a team yet in championship who will push up on them like Mayo will, nor any team equivalent to Mayo since the last time they played Mayo.

Key factors will be how Tipp manage to put them on back foot as they did Cork, which is difficult to see. Would love to see Tipp make a game of it, and they will certainly bring the right mentality as did Cavan, but they're up against the consistently best team other than Dublin of past 7/8 years.

And a team that on my looking at them, have improved with the changes made in last year. Horan I would imagine has a realistic view of where they are at and what they need to do to beat Dublin. All else has been secondary to that since the semi final last year.

Looking at Mayo's team sheet from Galway game -

I am going to keep an eye on thier newer lads.

    Oisin Mullin (2)

    Matthew Ruane (9)

    Mark Moran (11)

    Tommy Conroy (13)

    --

Considering Chris Barrett plays for Clontarf and Mayo have a fella called Tommy Conroy. Maybe it is reason enough for the Dubs to support Mayo. ;)

Although Tipp have an Evan Comerford in goal.

I suppose it is him and Sweeney, Quinlivan, and Riordan I have to be watching for.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Can’t be far off the stage teams will just give Dublin a walkover rather than a team been humiliated publicly and drawn a whole heap of costs on their county board and their fans .

Their fans be better off spending what they’d have spent going to match on lotto tickets , they might have some chance of winning the lotto !

    I think that was Sligo's tactic v Galway. :D

It was an expected result, I said before game if Cavan got it to 10 or less equals a morale victory.

What do you expect when you put a top on form div 1 side v a side relegated to div 3? In the wide pitch of CP?

If it was in a smaller ground like Parnell Park would have been closer.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Where is the logical conclusion to this?

    Waterford refuse to play Kerry?
    Wicklow refuse to play Meath?

Logical conclusion would be it would force the GAA to distribute funding equally?

Would that stop Kerry whooping Waterford and Meath whooping Wicklow?

I think there is some issue with funding but the above was suggesting teams shouldn't play vs Dublin as theyll be beaten well.

    Anyways sorry off topic

    Good summation.

Eoghan Mc Loughlin is another prospect that we are very hopeful re.

Very difficult to decide on match ups.

All depends on where players play.

Sweeney will be picked up by Barrett or Keegan.

Barrett has the physicality although Sweeney has a height advantage.

Speculated Paddy will pick up Quinlavin if he plays in the half forwards.

Likely to switch Leeroy on to him if he moves into the full forward line.

Mayo will likely want to avoid long kickouts and force Tipp to go short as our midfield is quite mobile but don't have the same prowess aerially as we have historically.

Aidan or Diarmuid may act as quasi midfielders if they need arises.

James Horan will likely run the bench and introduce Jordan Flynn or Tom Parsons if we're shipping significant water.

I fully expect mayo to make hard work of this, Tipp have a great chance, especially going into the last 10 when mayo will probably fall apart.

If you're Dub you should be supporting Tipp as Paddy Christie is a selector for them. His Mother is from Tipp. He was on the radio during the week with Matt Cooper and gave a very good interview. Comes across as a great guy.

A good year for him as a Dub, Ballymun former player and now Tipp flying high. Think he won a Sigerson too if I'm not mistaken?

Threw a tenner on Tipp to win this.

Wonder if the game will be pushed back if there is extra time in the first game?

That seems disgraceful what happened to the ladies and their throw in time moved.

Sh*tshow from the start - should never have been played in Dublin in the first place. I'm livid for both sets of players and management and very sorry for families, friends and supporters who can't even watch the game live because they couldn't move cameras - presumably couldn't come to an agreement with RTE and leave them broadcast it live instead or even broadcast to Facebook or YouTube.

Hopefully won't have an impact on later

Is Croke Park not full of cameras for the second game, where there is a will there's a way and all that

LGFA have no one to blame but themselves anyway, why is the game in Dublin anyway, the country full of pitches, and no crowds by to worry about it could have been played anywhere.

    Such codology.

Made that point on a social media - plenty of RTE camera's in there that could have been used. EDIT: Just saw on the RedFM twitter feed that live streaming isn't being allowed - that is poor on the part of TG4/LGFA not to allow it happen in these exceptional circumstances.

Really feel for Galway - they didn't get out to warm up until about 15 mins before throw in. It is freezing up there apparently - whether that will make a difference to the Tipp v Mayo game. Croke Park surface should take two games being played on it.

Paddy Durban to win footballer of the year. Better individual this year than any of the Dubs.

Moved from Parnell Park to Croker after pitch inspection. Too late to move cameras etc and disrupted teams.

    Fair enough thanks.

People on here making it sound like the GAA had just disbanded women's football or something
