Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Must have saved dedicated imbibers an absolute fortune since it's inception.

    Well done everyone.

(Two cases of Carlsberg bottles €25 in Lidl.)

The 24 Stella box is only €17.71 in lidl today. Wow very cheap beer. The boxes are very flimsy tho like they already been opened.

I don't think it was mentioned in the old thread, but the cans of Guinness in the 24 pack trays are 470ml.

I’ve read mixed reviews on the 470ml Guinness. Some say it’s dreadful.

Is it as bad as that really??

Discussed at length in the original booze deals thread. I believe the short answer is yes.

    What's Rockshore lager like?

Equivalent of a bud or coors. Wouldn’t be for me but if you’re into that type of light beer go for it.

Bland basic lager, I wouldn't rate it against Carlsberg or Heineken.

Tesco have signs up saying 4 crate maximum per customer, not sure if that's per brand or total.

What’s to stop someone going straight back in and going to a different cashier. Or even the same one for that matter, I doubt they’d care. Such bs.

Not that I need more than 4 crates, I just think the Max purchase thing is bs

  • Registered Users Posts: 284 ✭✭steves2

shops do the "Max 4 per person" thing in order to create panic, they won't care if you come in and out a couple times

Question was asked in last thread re expected offer on ardfallen whiskey in Aldi - it'll be €20 from Tuesday for a litre

8 pack of Guinness (500ml) in dunnes down to €11. 6 x 8 = 48 cans for €66 less €10 off €50 spend = €28 for full size slab. Less if you have a couple of other postal vouchers.

    I had

The 12 packs at 15.50 work out a bit cheaper

Chateauneuf du pape is €15 a bottle in SuperValu and you get another €10er off if you buy 6.

So world out at €80 for 6 bottles (€13.33) of a very nice wine- great for gifting to people and, obviously, drinking yourself.

    Good deal IMO

I’m not really a lager snob & don’t go on about drinking this or that beer defining your whole being, etc. But rock shore is especially weak flavoured

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,130 ✭✭✭Surreptitious

I like Rockshore, it's a refreshing drink. It is fine if you want to have one or two and have to work the next day.

Carling 500ml ×24 for €20 in lidl Waterford actually on the shelf, couldn't believe it.

would you recommend it versus Jameson or tullamore dew or bush mills

It's your basic blended Irish whiskey (from West Cork Distillers), so comparable with the above in terms of quality.

On a subjective level I'd prefer Jameson or Tullamore Dew but that comes down to taste preference. Worth a punt at that price for sure.

Just picked up 2 slabs of carlsberg in tesco for €30, had a €5 of €25 voucher, €15 a case isn't to bad at all, have another voucher for tomorrow and will partake in another 2 slabs. Thanks for the heads up on that deal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 531 ✭✭✭xredmanlfcx

Got 24 x 500ml Carlsberg in Tesco today for €20. Thanks to those on here for pointing out it was for sale at that price.

You’re reading my post too literally. I’m asking a question.

Beer like most cold beverages is refreshing so I’m wondering why anyone would choose to drink rockshore. It’s pure piss water.
