The context was related to people going to bars and restaurants. Not sure where you're getting vulnerable people from that? If people are vulnerable they should stay at home. The remainder who do take advantage of bars and restaurants are not 'eejits'.

Oh nice one. Vulnerable should stay home. As usual, great post.

He said if you are taking lots of risks and around vulnerable people. It's clear he was talking about being around them in other settings, not in pubs and restaurants.

Well the pandemic predominantly effects them so yeah? If the rest of us had to for the majority of the year even though the virus poses little threat to us then I guess they should too.

Take a guess who's vulnerable so. It can hit young, old, middle aged, you? How do you know? Not saying everyone will die. Little threat to who exactly?

You only need to look at the ages of deaths to find that out

How many times do we have to say that people are worried about more than just deaths?

We have no idea what the long-term effects are from getting this virus, and there appears to be a huge number of people who are suffering from Long-covid, many with life-changing impacts.

Initially this was thought to be lung disease. Now it appears that it actually affects the lining of blood vessels. Who's to say what this will mean down the road for things like strokes, even for people who had a mild illness?

Exactly my oh and I are having lunch with his son in a pub today and going for dinner just the two of us Monday

So one close contact, the positive impact on my ohs mental health is enormous

For Christmas we won't see his kids as their mother is visiting from the North and we don't want that risk as she is also a HCW

Do what you feel comfortable while keeping within the boundaries

We won't have anyone in our home the next month but will meet his son for lunch once a week

Think meeting family is different to just going out and and drinking.

If your going to come out with a one line comment you could at least explain the reasoning for the comment

    It's quite possible.

If irresponsible decisions remain in place the ascent which has started will keep accelerating. It's the same here as it is everywhere else. We can't walk on water.

Nobody is going to care about Christmas afterward or what they could or couldn't do.

I see people are now predicting that we'll have a "horror show" in January, like italy in March, etc. People have been predicting these doomsday scenarios here since the start and they've never come to pass, why would January be any different?

It will be horrific, the population will be wiped out, it will be up to eagle and a few more "careful" people to repopulate the planet.

What’s wrong with that? Surely vulnerable people keeping themselves out of risk is a no brainier.

A lot of the pro-vaxxers on here could become anti-vaxxers pretty fast in the face of a 'Sputnik V' dose.

I think you will find most people trust the European regulators to make a call on the safety and efficacy of a vaccine. If they approve it I will take it. Has the Russian one been approved bu the EU regulators?

What if a vulnerable person needs a hospital for a separate issue but it's full of covid patients?

Go to a different hospital that's not full.

How does what's happening in Russia matter as regards whether or not you'd take a vaccine that's been approved by the EMA or FDA?
