Hi all, my husband is number 5 on this panel and he didn't hear anything yet. He has Wexford as his first preference. Does that mean that the offers that are for Dublin only are for those even if they placed lower than 5? I thought the OOM was nationwide?

There are 4 streams so depends on how many offers were made and from which stream.

Oh, I see, thanks so much Redbarn. He is number 5 on the law and number 6 on the economics panel.

There are 4 separate panels in this comp. Whatever location(s) he has picked, once a job comes available in that location, Revenue will go to the nationwide panel that is next to be pulled from(there is a number of AO panels in use) & then they will go to the highest person on the panel who has that location as their choice & the job is offered.

Hopefully something comes up for him soon.

Thanks for letting us know. Do you know if there were a number of offers or just one? Did you get a start date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭MiggyB

    Only know of the one!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 225 ✭✭Anonire

Thanks for that info miggyb. It's great news for the lucky person appointed.

No other updates? I suspect we will get out regional panel placing and an update that no large scale recruitment is anticipated at this time.

Just wondering, why are you expecting this? I suppose there are little to no audits taking place due to covid and this may mean little to no recruitment in the area...

Anyone hear anything about their regional placing? Or anymore updates about offers?

I sent an email on Wednesday to the panel placing asking about info on individual location panels & auto reply again only.

I just got a reply now with my County placing. It also states that 'this panel is due to expire on the 28th October 2021.'

I got my panel placing for location just now also.
Great that we can see where we are by location. Hopefully some movement on those panels soon.

Do you mind me asking how many are on your panel roughly...for example are you in the top 10 or so?

I missed out on a placing due to 1 competency by a small margin..passed all the others with an overall score of 450 on Tax panel and 450 on Accounting panel....

Just wondering how far down the panel I would have been...

    Thank you

I dont know how many on the panel, I only got a placing number but no details of how many on the panel. I got in the low 30s overall in the nationwide Accounting Panel & I got in the top 5 in my chosen locations.

Disappointing that you missed out by a small margin in 1 competency & 450 is a very good score so maybe you should request a review of that competency if you havent already.

They probably have a lot of emails to go through & replying in order format but hopefully you will hear very soon.
Congrats to you too on making the panel - this competition was a very tough process.

Thanks 3002. I'm glued to my email! This competition most definitely was a very tough process. Hopefully we hear of people getting promoted off the panels soon

Does anyone have any insight on possible appointments or any other competitions which may impact on same?

It's a 1 in 4 chance of being placed when as position arises.
HEO and AO regarded at the same grade so for every position that comes up its a 1 in every 4 positions that a AO will be recruited : They take from the Internal competition, Interdepartmental competition, Transfer panel and the AO panel. I sat number 1 on 2 panels for three locations last year for 6 months and nothing came about. This panel maybe different with retirements and Brexit looming but as a person retires it is the 4 panels they alternate from to recruit

That doesn't sound very positive really especially when there are 4 streams as well to pick from. No. 1 on 2 panels & no appointment. That must have been very tough. Hopefully with Brexit & the high level of retirements they will recruit a lot but still you never do know. The fact it's a 1 year panel makes it even harder
