Has any reputable publication charted a path for any of these cases to end up at least being considered for consideration by the SCOTUS?

The only thing that bringing any of these cases in front of the SCOTUS would achieve is to try and give an air of legitimacy to the hot air that Trump's legal team is spewing, i.e. that here is this case in front of the very highest court in the land, so it must mean something.

Whether it even can get to the Supreme Court I don't know, but the judges who Trump appointed would want to be loyalists to him to a degree unseen in modern U.S. history to actually turn around and find some merit in cases which have had lower court judges waving the cases off and saying, "getthef*ckouttamyface...", basically.

Equally so of those that don't like Trump. Weeks on from an election, that is over and people still talking about it.

It is not over until midday on Jan 20th.

Is it not over on December 14th when the Electoral College vote?

I know Trump will continue to whinge on , but surely all legal avenues are done and dusted at that point?

Once the EC have voted I don't think there is a pathway to overturn that vote.

Although , as we are discovering it's probably just precedent and good manners protecting it and not actual laws!

ye - fair enough - tbh - I personally gave up caring so much - I will happily post a throwaway comment for the likes tho - It's not only trump that has a fragile ego :pac:

There is nothing to be done at this stage. The current situation sucks. It really is screwing over anyone who is suffering (COVID etc), but I don't see it changing anytime before Jan.

In the normal course of events it would be over already. this is not an ordinary course of events.

Oh totally agree , just wondering if there are actual opportunities to continue to litigate the result after the EC has voted.

Probably won't be on Twitter though , they will kick him to the kerb fairly quickly after January 20th.

Probably Parler or whatever "Free-speech" platform is out there after Parler inevitably either fails or introduces rules around posting after they get sued a few times.

Republicans can object to the actual counting of the EC votes in January which is usually a formality. Where the vote is certified and one slate of electors is approved there should be no issue. But they could in theory drag out the counting process indefinitely to frustrate the final approval of Biden.

Doesn't matter if the EC still hasn't been calculated for whatever reason they might find to ratfvck the situation, by January 20th there must be a new presidential administration and next in line hilariously is Nancy.

The House could elect Biden as Speaker of the House to ensure he takes up the presidency if that happened. There's no requirement that the Speaker must be a member of Congress. It would be comical if they did that......Trumpists heads would explode.

So they decide they've had enough and speak out. How does that make them cowards?

they haven't spoken out. Bernstein has outed what they have been saying privately.

Because doing so now takes no strength of character, Trump has been beaten. Where were they when it might have made an actual difference.

They haven't spoken out. That's the point. Publically they back Trump because he's a Republican president, and refuse to tell him to stand aside.

Privately, they despise the man. But refuse to speak against him.

    That's why they're cowards.

    Huh?
Have 21 spoke out now? or are you just going by a tweet that says those 21 are not happy?!
    Not the same thing.

They haven't spoken out though, telling Bernstein or whoever his sources are in private that's trumps an idiot while remaining silent or even openly supporting trump in public is incredibly cowardly

If nothing else , Trump has exposed how utterly amoral most of the GOP are.

When he first started out, they were giving their true feeling about him - See Lindsey Graham for example , but then all of a sudden they were like "Oh hang on he's popular, better pretend to like him"

They have no morals or actual beliefs beyond Power , most people knew this but Trump utterly exposed that.

The Democrats go to the other extreme with their ridiculous "purity tests" etc. but the GOP care about nothing as long as they have power.

Bernstein says as much in terms of how they've actively avoided ousting him even though they view him as unfit to be president.

I said it from the start

    Trump is not the problem

It is those aiding and abetting and encouraging him....

He thrives on this, and at times, plays to the gallery....

It is what is expected of him...

I think those backing him make even more a divisive and polarizing and dangerous individual...

Because they had 4 years to show their honesty and most chose not to.

Anyone exhibiting drastically different behaviour now is trying to change the way in which their own behaviour will have been viewed throughout this period.

It will continue. Once Trump finally leaves, the only ones left singing his praises will be his die hard conservative fans and his very close family members. Expect many more, even the likes of Mike Pence or Nikki Halley to say that they were only respecting the office and trying to be guide him towards the right choices when they try to continue their careers with an eye on the White House at a later date.

The GOP are keenly aware that Trump, an abusive, egotistical and notoriously thin-skinned individual, has just received over 70 million votes. They do not want to incur the inevitable ire and abuse from Trump tweeting to his subscribers. They steer clear of that metaphorical drowning man in case they get dragged under with him, they thread water from a safe distance and wait for the inevitable while watching him trash and holler, in denial at how doomed he is. They are in a precarious and sensitive position. Support Trump, and the baseless conspiracy theories, and be seen to denigrate democracy or publically shun him and get targeted on Twitter by a malignant narcissist with a penchant for pathological lying. They are akin to the person who rides a tiger and who fears to dismount i.e. if they were to get off then they are very likely to get mauled by the Tiger.

How this nonsense will impact the January elections will be noteworthy.

Already, those in the firing line are worrying that Trump's behaviour will affect their chances

    https://twitter.com/SamWangPhD/status/1330697784241090560?s=20

Ideally, this will result in a huge spat between the republicans allegedly quoted and Trump, and it will be akin to two F1 drivers from the same team taking each other out on track
