Already did, before posting the above. The past couple of pages talk about various delays all right, but I don't see one with quite the same thing as what I'm asking about, where the tracking says "departed country of origin" but shows no sign of it ever actually arriving anywhere else.

If it was showing as "arrived in destination country" or even arrived anywhere else along the way, at least I'd know where it was. But as things stand, it doesn't seem to be anywhere.

Just curious because I chose the same shipping method for the other item I ordered from a different seller on the same day. That too said "departed country of origin" on the same date, and then arrived here a week or more ago.

    But thanks anyway.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. There are posts when it turns out that the goods were in Lithuania ,for example, as a transit point, but the tracking was showing as arrival in destination country.

There is a similar things with packages sent via the netherlands. Bit of a pain when your purchase protection runs out and the seller asks you wait a bit more because the parcel is in your country.

So I guess it might just be held up there. Thanks.

Try you tracking code here: - https://track-chinapost.com/

Thanks. Entries there are more detailed all right, but still the most recent one is just to show departure from Shenzhen in China on October 19. It also says the item "has no shipping record in Ireland".

But probably just sitting in a cage somewhere, as somebody else has said. Anyway, was just curious, not worried. It's not a Christmas present or anything, so it doesn't actually matter when it arrives, so long as it gets here sometime.

8 months and 3 weeks! Yes, 8 months and 3 weeks later an order arrives. By the state of it, it must have been lying in the back of the van or kicked around the An Post warehouse for months.

I ordered a small circuit board from banggood. It came via holland. The packet is empty and there is a yellow sticker on it that says
"Goods not fulfilling conditions of articles 28 and 29 of the treaty on functioning of the EU"

What is this about? It was worth under 4 euro! No note or letter or anything.

See photo. I tried to rings customs in portlaoise but they close at 5pm.

Lots of information on Google about the yellow sticker. It doesn't explain why the packet is empty, though.

You can ask your seller to extend PP before it runs out. If they don't, you can open a dispute, which is why they always extend.

Some of the stories above about months-long delays suggest I've not much to worry about here, but here goes anyway....

Am an Ali Express novice, having previously bought only one item - was ordered in January and arrived sometime in early March.

Then ordered two other things on October 17 last. One of them got here last week.

For the other (from a different seller), tracking says it departed country of origin (i.e. China) on October 19. But no update since then, and it's now a full month later, even though it surely must have landed somewhere since that depature!

Is this sort of thing common?

I regularly have stuff leave China after 2 days, and get delivered by An Post months later. My record is 5 months, but I see someone else has had 8. I wouldn't get too worried, most stuff shows up eventually.

Just an update on the item I was waiting for myself, and wondering about tracking for - it arrived safely this morning.

The tracking details now jump straight from "Departed country of origin" on October 19 to "Accepted by last mile carrier" and "Delivered" today, with nothing in between.

My question was really whether or not I could have expected to see something like "reached destination country" or "under review at destination country Customs" in between those things. Obviously not.

Just might be useful to know for anybody else in the same situation.

And that's the short answer to what my original question really was anyway. :)

    Thanks.

I have 2 stuck in Belgium, 1 is 2 weeks there and another over 4 weeks. Both are NL so still a long way to come.
Another has apparently been handed to last mile carrier/arrived at facility (Dublin) since November 13th but nothing on An Post tracking and no updates since.
I've had about 15 orders most arrive within 4 weeks and China Post seems to be the fastest at 2 weeks average.
The order apparently in Dublin is with Sunyou and both NL are Aliexpress standard shipping which shows as Cainaio on tracking sites.

Update: The package in Belgium for 2 weeks has been handed over in bulk to PostNL, could arrive before Xmas.
Not sure why the other is sitting there, perhaps it's because it came by train and the other was air freight.

This is currently my timeline! Ordered the 22nd of October - has anyone had goods arrived in Ireland for 12 days without hearing any further updates? Not sure if I should be getting worried that goods have been lost!

No sign of the package on An Post tracking website.

An Post can take up to 4 weeks to deliver from China. And it may not have even left Holland yet.....

They have advised a poster in here before. have a look through the " Anyone still waiting for stuff from China?" thread https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057689533

Yes, I have a very low value item that arrived in the country on 4 December but still haven't got delivery of it nor is it showing on An Posts tracking.

it will not appear on An Post's tracking until near when it will be delivered.

they don't want items registered on their system until then as people could annoy them. until they do that they can say they haven't got it yet.

before that it will be languishing in a postal cage somewhere.

    that's how they roll.

Had a package shipped from China on the 15th November, arrived in Dublin on the 23rd and no movement since. Ordered 2 other packages from the same company since then and both arrived within 2 weeks, this one just seems to have gotten stuck.

Also branded with a very low res AnPost logo. Nice bit of business for AP there. Yanwen cover a LOT of packages from Ali that used to be CN Post directly. 5/12 to 23/12 is good going from China.

    Hopefully they keep this up.
