Bertie if you think it's going to snow tomorrow you're in for disappointment. It's 16c today and temps will drop a little tmrw. You need to listen to the weather forecast more often.

Kermit analysed the SSW in the troposphere in February 2018 and correctly predicted where the polar vortex split would occur. What do you think of that Bertie? Genius can't be denied by mediocrity.

Ok. You're a fan of Kermit. We get it. Lets move on and discuss Covid

Today is the first day Ireland's 14 day average has increased since the day before the move to level 5 on October 22nd - from 414.4 cases per day to 417.5 cases per day (over the past 14 days).

That's where level 5 will stay at unless further action is taken.

That would involve closing school's and further businesses and for what. The numbers we have now aren't ideal but the hospitals aren't being swamped either, we're at the bottom end of numbers across Europe. To what end is it worth taking further action.

So, in an industry that are already crying out for staff, you want to make them give up any lives they had to live permanently there. I don't give a crap what the wages are, no one is signing up for that

where do you think nursing home outbreaks are coming from?

What did you mean by it, so?

It was a tongue and cheek remark, me saying we're potentially expected not to meet family and friends for Christmas but, it'll be fine for him and the rest.

Had absolutely nothing to do with anyone's health and never even crossed my mind!

Anyone using that to point score or to twist it into something that it's not, is just a sick ****

I don't think NPHET can be sure on the hospitals.

i genuinely believe that secondary schools should be closed for the month of December and perhaps opened in June to make up for time lost.

    Perhaps primary can remain open?

Hurray! That's a vast difference! In 20 weeks we'll be down to 260!

I agree but if the option is ask the staff to give up their lives for their job whilst there's plenty in different professions out socialising, you'll be left with no staff pretty quickly

So you think we should close schools, businesses and go back to March 27th restrictions?

I think they should focus their attention on places people are forced to congregate indoors

It's absolutely not worth taking further action. We are doing very well and, pubs & hospitality aside, I think that there is enough economic activity to keep us ticking over (tradesmen, home improvements being allowed, for example). There is plenty of traffic, and its not just people on the school run

NPHET have just set this ridiculously low 50-100 number because they are blinkered and don't want to open up

Sarcasm eludes you grasshopper. "Genius" my left testicle.

You're having trouble with your 's'es Brutus. Stupidity isn't sarcasm.

Kermit has genius. He's seriously intelligent. 10 of his posts are worth 10,000 of yours. You'd never learn anything from yours.

I hear it's going to snow tomorrow. My inner voice declared that, therefore I'm completely right.

You don't seem to want to answer the question about why you believe we are doing comparably better than our neighbors.

It's because of the mitigation measures.

You can't on the one hand say "aren't we doing well" while on the other ignoring the reason because it does not suit your narrative.

    Feelings don't change facts.

It's definitely out of reach now, and they will have their justifications prepared already. It's up to MM and the government to show who's boss and make key decisions to support the economy in December and beyond.

Has to be one of the most gormless politicians I've known and that's saying something.
