Nphet warns Government of Covid-19 risk from international travel

This is an outrageous piece of disinformation and propaganda from NPHET, there is virtually no evidence that international travel has contributed to rising covid cases since March. Holohan just wants people not to travel for Christmas and remain isolated away in their homes for eternity and away from their families.

When will people begin to ask questions and have a civilised debate about NPHET and their incompetence? this should be a major public debate.

Then just close the border between south and north. Other countries did it with bigger borders in Europe.

It's simply not a runner. It doesn't really matter how many times you say it.

Something very menacing I have noticed over the past few days is how the 'experts' and the hysterical media are downplaying the positive vaccine news. Some of these 'experts' are now saying we need to continue wearing masks and maintain social distancing for years, even after the vaccine has been given to millions of people. This whole situation is becoming very bizarre...

They keep putting out this negative information in public in order to keep people 'in line' for possibly years to come. How can they possibly keep on downplaying the vaccine? one minute they says its 90-95% effective, but then all of a sudden it's not the solution!

It was Holohans instant reaction- these zealots are perfectly happy with their gifted, unjustified and unearned power and influence- why would they want the golden goose to cease?

You really do have to remove yourself from it. Just withdraw from engagement as it feeds the monster. 9 months of this madness at this stage- there is only so much rational human beings can take - what is any of it actually achieving? Nothing for her likes of me, but it’s making an awful lot of money and opportunities for certain people. Without question Nphet are one of the worst creations to be ever foisted on this country

I put them akin to “the sparrows” from game of thrones. Tony H is the high sparrow.

Everyone is afraid to open their mouths against the monstrosity of a cult Leo has handed the reigns over to since middle of March.

Let’s hope NPHET burn in wildfire flames similarly to the sparrows. Sooner the better

If the 1st Dec comes and we are no better off than we were in late Sept they can f*ck off, they have lost me.
I'm away to Dub and the north for the day in the run up to Christmas and they can f*ckin like it or lump it.

Gemma O'Doherty isn't looking so batsh*t crazy these days after all.........

I agree its not a runner, as if it was we would of done it by now and had a nice little bubble on our island with everything open.

Phoenix Park, Dub mountains, Henry Street lights, it's the lead up to Christmas and the kids love it.

I'm going to the Canary Islands in January, people are much better off removing themselves completely from this daily manufactured hysteria. People's mental health will improve dramatically when you aren't surrounded by people who embrace the never ending doom.

    Even the name is misleading.

They are concerned only with Covid and no other public health issue.

The should be referred to as NCEC not NPHET

    National Covid Echo Chamber

Make sure you read this: https://www.hellocanaryislands.com/coronavirus/

Think you need a negative test before they allowed you there. Think you will have to pay a 100 euro for it?

Yeah that's right, I'm going to try and get the test booked soon for January. Really looking forward to heading somewhere.

I think this will be the approach all over for the summer next year.

I think this will be the approach all over for the summer next year.

    Think again.

Once elderly have access to vaccine come Q1 2021 the whole hysteria will die off as quickly as it started. I am not so sure that hospitality and tourism business groups will be happy with this continuing 100 euro + negative test requirement increasing tourists costs of access.

    Emphasis on the negative.

Or. You are right. and those tourists places that do not have this test requirement will be booming coming summer, as no sane person will spend 500 euros + on holiday (or 1,500 + if a family) with a risk that a false positive test that individual had to pay 100 euros for comes back positive....

If I can lay it out logically and simply here I am sure tourism groups all over EU will be saying just that to their governments.

I get the impression they won't have full access though.

I agree but the zealots have managed to shut everything down. So unless you like trapsing around a supermarket with your sacred mask on, there’s nothing much to do I’m sorry to say. Can’t wait for Christmas to be over tbh

When have governments ever eased restrictions on air travel. It was already painful enough before this measure. It will be unbearable now. ", shoe's off, laptop out, stick out your nose for a swab"

People appear to have no problem with the requirement to pass a test before getting on a plane, yet are up in arms over the Ticketmaster proposal.
    Very strange.

That’s the thing. 9/11 nearly two decades ago but if anything the rig morole has only grown in that time. Any semblance of privacy and personal freedom has long since withered away

Forcing people in the near future to present a 'vaccination card' to go to a concert or fly abroad is something out of 1984. Totally absurd and its simply state backed totalitarian nonsense.

I think many people would rather be tested, but this isn't something that can go on forever...

A vaccination card is like something they would do in China.

And there ya have it again folks- lockdown won’t be ending anytime soon

And as for the bull****e about hospital workers “picking it up in the community “- if that’s the case why is it not happening with other sets of workers? This is all gone well beyond a very expensive, bankrupting joke at this stage

From start to finish this whole sorry episode has borne all the hallmarks of a totalitarian regime- the state controlled media, the willingness to turn on neighbours, the lack of any opposing narrative or POV.
