Either way, there can be no planning anymore, cos you don't know what country will be green/amber/red/whatever ahead of time.

Plus the cost of PCR ... ~ €150 per person, good luck with a family of 4.

Nah, it's done, I'll be lucky to get home in the next decade, allready accepted the fact ill never see my parents again and won't be able to go to their funerals.

All for a virus with an IFR of ~ 0.2% ...

    NUTS!

That is quite a nuts post, worst case you wait until next sprng/summer.

    Dramatic much?
Remember he got locked up for months in Barcelona. That'll take its toll.

Hector has in a couple of posts said a poster wants a lockdown indefinitely to having a meltdown! Doesn't surprise me!

Dramatic maybe, but it does show how on edge people are with the whole situation. From hoping to see his family in a few weeks time to the realisation this may not happen or at the very minimum it could cost additional costs. Its a tough time for many people.

Keep in mind that'll be for about 10 days ago. Likely lower possibly 0.5 I'd say

Wow 0.6 R0, that's an unbelieavble achievement. Honestly never thought it would get as low as NPHET were hoping

Second waves are easier to control according to some experts.

It looks like it may well be true.

We now have the second-lowest incidence rate in the EU.

Probably because we know where the risk areas are and protect them more plus people are more clued in on what they need to do.

Numbers for Donegal and Dublin still worrying.

We’re running at about 5.9 times lower case per capita than the U.K. at the moment.

And testing capacity is well able to keep up with it in Wave 2, unlike in April

Donegal is likely to keep heading towards Northern Ireland patterns.

I could see the border counties effectively having to remain in level 3+ as a buffer zone as we can politically close the border.

Dublin and Cork on per capita basis aren’t that bad. The headline figure just looks worse as the county populations are significantly bigger.

Exactly. I'm wondering about the nature of our 2nd surge and the fact that it was based on some pretty large clusters. Might this have helped it fall so fast?

Donegal remains an issue according to prof Nolan
