Forget fraud. How about voter suppression which is very real in the southern states. How about an investigation in to that.

Be more worthwhile than this time wasting.

It's the voter suppression, gerrymandering and postal delay shenanigans that has them thinking there must have been voting irregularities.

They rigged the game and then they lost. That could only have happened if someone else outdid them in rigging, right? It's only logical.

Just watched both these again after I posted them, they really are bizarre. Copeland looks like a clip of something used in the Natural Born Killers film or a Quentin Tarantino movie to convey the absurdity of what is supposedly near life while the person descending in to a homicidal rage is judged to be the insane one.

Adam Bolton of Sky News losing the rag with a republican, just over now. Although he's right I think he weren't so biased he might not loose the rag so easily.

She seems to be moving slowly towards the second stage of grief. Seems like progress, most of Trump supporters are stuck on stage 1.

It should be a wild ride

Things are becoming very dark in the States now.

    https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/politics/trump-claims-we-will-win-election-as-gop-seeks-options-to-block-president-elect-joe-biden-from-taking-white-house/ar-BB1aScZ6?ocid=msedgntp

It looks like Trump has absolutely zero interest in giving up the presidency, thinks he won it and will not hand over power. And worse than that, senior Republicans are publicly supporting him in this aim.

Its taking a really nasty turn for the worse.

I think at this stage, the Democrats have to accept this idiot isn't going quietly and now need to explore how to have him removed from the White House. He could try to use every legal tool available to block them until it reaches the Supreme Court where he hopes and probably will get a favourable judgement.

At this stage, the US is most definitely heading towards a dictatorship of Trump and the Republican Party.

I made one response to one post about an audit in Pennsylvania. What's the problem here? The election hasn't been certified yet-I would have thought people would be happy for an opportunity to dispel fraud rumours.

The "rumours" are just unsubstantiated hot air though. So, there hasn't been any reason to have an audit.

There is nothing solid about this "fraud" nonsense, so entertaining it would be a waste of time and money. Baseless allegation is not grounds for organising a recount or audit.

I doubt Trump worshippers would be so eager to demand recounts and audits if the situation was the other way round.

They'll have their b*ll$h1t investigation, nothing will come of it.

You would really think that if there's any evidence of fraud whatsoever, the Trump campaign would have it all over the media at this stage.

But he doesn't, HE'S JUST TWEETING IN CAPS INSTEAD

Trump will have to leave. It's that simple.

Despite the dark undertones I’d still be confident their cases will get thrown out of court and none will even reach the SC.
Recounts are more likely but Biden has an unassailable lead thankfully.

Anti-vaxers , who see Trump as their saviour from a deep state who want to force a vaccine on the population?

Nothing to get worked up about now, technically he is POTUS until 12pm on the day of inaugeration. So he doesn't have to leave and is free, as he always was, to undertake whatever EO and firings/hirings he wants.

It is odd that a POTUS is allowed to stay after the election, but that is the way they do it.

its not at all surreal at this stage.

    its exactly who he is.

What's truly scary is that someone like that can reach the highest office in the land.

Some in the politics thread have the theory that they (trump etc) are looking to drag sh1t out long enough for those states not to be certified and therefore excluded from the EC vote.
Don't put any weight into one theory or another but the GOP are known for tactics such as voter suppression before this election and have tried fraud in California, but the good type of fraud for trump supporters.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/12/us/politics/california-gop-drop-boxes.html

"The California Republican Party has admitted responsibility for placing more than 50 deceptively labeled “official” drop boxes for mail-in ballots in Los Angeles, Fresno and Orange Counties — an action that state officials said was illegal and could lead to election fraud"

"Government officials say the receptacles are illegal and could lead to election fraud, but the party says it will continue the practice"

Republicans are backing Trump's baseless claims. To those in this thread that thought that the GOP had a shred of dignity, logic or principles. Nope, shameless populists.

But as I understand it, Trump needs to be re-elected to stay as POTUS. His term, regardless of what happens, finishes in January.

If no-one is declared the winner, then doesn't Pelosi take over?

70% of Republicans believe the election wasn't free and fair. It's incredible, it's like a cult. If I was Trump I would absolutely be claiming the election was fraudulent, no evidence is required, these people will swallow anything he claims.

Read this article, US Law around election challenges is poorly written and weak, there is no clear path to resolution, for the past 150 odd years this has been avoided due to the loser making a concession and pathing the way for the new president. Obviously Trump has no decency and is unlikely to follow the norm, which is not legally required, but has to date avoided the US having a full blown constitutional crisis.

Reports that Pence is going on vacation.

So either he has Covid or he thinks they should concede and he's getting out of dodge for a while.

Aye they love their constitution which dates back to 1789 and while it has been amended on occasion, it is very hard to do so under the mechanics it sets out, and as such is a document from well over 200 years ago which is hard to translate into the modern world. The right to bear arms stems from people with muzzle loaded rifles, clearly you'd wonder if their intent was to have 100,000's of people armed with AR 15s. It truly is a horse drawn cart in a world of space travel and supersonic planes!

Don't blame him, if I were him I'd be getting out of dodge to avoid myself being tainted irrevocably with the stain of Trump's ongoing actions!

If the Electoral College is unable to come to a clear outcome due to Republican shenanigans - the 12th Amendment says that the House of Representatives will choose the president between the candidates. But they do this by state delegation and it is almost certain the Republicans hold more state delegations:

if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote

Have no doubt this is the plan they are now pursuing. Whether they will be successful is another question.

I was looking at memorable slogans from the 2016 election. Trump had way more. WAY more. It’s rare I give a compliment to him but he very much knows how to plant ideas in people’s head and create reasonable doubt. I actually think he would make a good criminal defense lawyer.

He’s not as stupid as he acts- not by a long shot. He may not ultimately get away with whatever he’s trying to do but I’ve no doubt he’s aiming for some form of constitutional crises - he has friends now in the SC- many of them- will get the funding though I wonder- he’s crowd funding all this legal appeals - it’s not his own money and it’s estimated to run at something like 60 m dollars - it will stop when the money runs out
