This looks like a cracking little car and a better alternative to the Fiesta ST maybe?

Priced at around 50000 euro here in Ireland according to Dave Humphreys.

No doubt better but prob 20k more! Looks great, love the approach they take on this stuff.

Its an awesome little car but it will be bonkers money here, like just about everything else on the market now.

€30k for a Fiesta ST is a relative bargain now. But these could go up in 2021 also. WLTP is going to kill everything fun.
I suppose we have dieselgate to thank for it all.

Wow did not imagine it was priced that high, that's mental money.

Looks like the new vrt bands are really pushing up prices of fun petrol cars. Going by the golf gti thread anyway.
Pushing us into electric and hybrid cars.

If you man maths it though, it's going to hold its value very well relatively I would guess......so a bargain really?

I'd say if any make their way here they'll be living in a garage or shed for the most part at that money.

I absolutely love that. That’s a modern day Impreza type of car.

Interesting look at the new m3/m4.

I love that isle of man green.
I wonder how much the M3/4 will end up costing here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,609 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

I'd say 95k to 100k easily. Sure the M340i starts @ 76k and that's before the latest VRT changes or any factory extras.

I reckon you're talking 110/120k easily due to vrt increases and a general price increase due to equipment improvements.

A friend of mine is taking delivery of an m340i in the next couple of weeks. It's a March 2020 car with a big spec. He's anxious to get it VRT'd and registered before the end of the year due to the pending VRT changes. I don't know the exact numbers but he reckons the savings are huge.

I can't wait to get a spin in it!!

Yeah, I can't see it being under 6 figures, sickening money.

It's beyond a scandal, a big heavy SUV can have a really low CO2 and VRT figure all because it's a plug-in or an EV, but a nice light hot hatchback gets absolutely clobbered under the new regulations.

Better for the environment my arse:rolleyes::rolleyes:!

Wasn't the run out of the last M4 in Comp spec something like 120k? So the new one will likely be even more :(

The seats in that m4 are something else. With the various options available to potential buyers, rear wheel drive, x drive, manual, auto etc, BMW are really pulling out all the stops to blow away the rivals. The looks are polarising, but I think they look extraordinary, particularly the m3.

This the same guy who was pricing m135i?
Where did he get it do you know?

Not the same fella no! These 2 lads are a bad influence on me - hence me pricing GTI Clubsport’s that I can’t afford and don’t particularly need....

He’s sourced it from a BMW dealer in London. Getting it shipped over here in the next week or so.

The m135 hasn’t been ordered yet. He’s hesitating and needs to offload his current car first.

    Dangerous influences indeed.
A bit like this and the golf gti thread for me I’m afraid. Putting ideas in my head.

A long standing good relationship with the dealers so they’re helping him out if he gets a buyer. He took a deposit on it lastnight.

Balls, If his dealer had a buyer for an ID we could have brokered something. It's better looking than an R estate.

So VW dealer helps him get into a BMW?
Hard to see what m135i offers over what he has to be honest. Less practical and will lose a ton more money in depreciation. Nicest Cupra I have seen.

Yeah to be honest I don't see how the M135i is an upgrade on the Cupra either, especially with the few tweaks he has done. It's good value for whoever bought it.
