That was an awful performance from the ref today. Some really strange decisions.

There will be plenty eyes on Palace v Leeds now. A draw there and United go back down to 15th.

Maguire could have been in trouble, def should have been a pen and then the question would be was he making a legitimate effort to play the ball for a potential red. Just an all round poor reffing performance.

Just like with the VVD incident a few weeks ago, it's offside so it can't be a pen, never mind a definite one.

Fernandes reminds me a bit of Suarez, not in his style of play or anything just more in the 'eat an apple through a tennis racket' sort of look about him.

VAR is actually blurring the lines too much in some cases. Letting marginal offsides go is surely likely to lead to more desperate tackles, potentially leading to more injuries which all seems pretty pointless if the play just gets called back anyway?? Few instances of this today coupled with Pickford's ridiculous challenge a few weeks ago on VVD, this looks like it's going to be a burning issue week in week out.

Also the continuing question over whether a player can be carded in such an instance?

Var strikes again. Stupid call in the Leeds game there...no way that was offside.

    He's literally a yard onside.
    The arm thing is ridiculous

It's the worst "offside" I've ever seen, stretched out arm is now classified as offside

    Jesus that’s some free kick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,858 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

That's the worst call I've seen yet this season. And probably won't be a worse call either.

What part of the body to the left of that red line can you score with? A joke

This is what's offside these days...ridiculous.

2-0 now where it really would have been 1-1 and a completely different turn on the game

    **** VAR

I only glanced at the replay to check and thought "Yep, he is onside anyway". Seems ludicrous, would like to see it again.

The red line is drawn from the point where the player can score from. The Henderson goal against Everton was ruled out in a similar fashion. Mane had his back towards goal and elbow out behind him and was judged to be off.

If the ball hit there and was scored from, I'd say its be ruled out for handball, and be grand with that. Also, the line on bamford is further down the arm than the line on the defenders arm. Awful call

I think the line from the palace player comes from the end of the sleeve as well but his arm is in closer to his body.

    Still a stupid decision.

There is just no discussion or any debate over Bamford's "offisde" goal, these idiots making their stupid rules need to piss off out of the sport and by the next round of matches their stupid rules needs to be removed from the sport

I know that was a big deflection but Leeds goalie really isn't particularly good.

Ole post game interview made hin look like a man inder real pressure
He was actually roght in what he said but it came across as a man with his neck on the line

He was spot on. The premier league need to take back control of their own fixture lists. The take the money and run, no thought given to players or fans who have to travel when they can go to games. Every other league attempts to help their clubs in Europe, Premier league never does.

That angle for Bamford offside isn't great.

Would wonder if they can use the vr sky use sometimes use on MNF.

Lets them see things from all different perspectives.

Well if an millimeter at an armpit is offside or the back of a heel of a player facing away from goal is then that arm above the shirt sleeve is well offside.
