Awkward how Tommy is better interviewing people he doesnt know with 0 preparation compared to other well paid rte presenters who know who they will be interviewing and have the opportunity to prepare for it.
Glad to hear the show will be back in January.

Except when he disappears up his own ar$e

Only Brendan could make an interview with Tommy as dull as dishwater. I enjoyed the Jeffrey archer slot, fairly sharp for his age, or is it Stockholm syndrome and I enjoyed it cause he’s not Irish and part of the usual circuit

Who is this person on who’s clearly a Trump supporter, talking about Hillary Clinton’s “inability to accept a loss”- is he actually for real?

Clinton made the concession call to Trump, she congratulated him on his victory, she attended his inauguration despite knowing that he was going to send the country she loves to a dark place.

Trump cannot even call Biden to congratulate him, he’s a disgrace to the office of President.

Karl Deeter seems to be his name. Some sort of a mortgage finance guy who was involved with Renua.

Clearly quite a dope and talking nonsense, and yet weirdly it's nice to hear someone speak to the republican side who isn't a complete ranting moron. Tho that says more about the quality of the debate stateside and the people of that tribe than anything positive about this guy

Come in and turn on the radio in the kitchen that has a dial to tune in the station but the numbers have faded off it so it's an estimation of what frequency it is. First thing I hear is a woman crying. I must have found rte. Then a mention of a 'lost son' and nuns - rte confirmed.

I think his interview with Tommy Tiernan suffered for not being an inperson interview.

At the start of the interview Brendan told Tommy off for making some joke about Santa Claus having to cocoon.

Brendan said something about Tommy not scaring people or words to that effect.

Meanwhile Brendan is allowed to shoot from the lip whenever he feels like it.

And then spent four years trying to get him kicked out office by saying that the Russians influenced his win.

Perhaps, but he certainly did a good impression of one today.

Whatever about the Sunday show which is dire mostly but has bits of light. The Saturday show is not on my radar anymore now.

He sure did! That odious diatribe Karl Dieter went on about Van Jones being a communist was so typical of him. When the US contributor responded that he knew Jones for years as a very good, decent, thoughtful person, Dieter tried to jump back in but, thankfully, was stopped by Brendan who allowed the US guy to continue.

i dont know who Val Jones is but i heard this monologue , it was pure cringe

It's Van Jones they were talking about.

He was working in the Obama administration and resigned.

He was part of STORM which had marxist links and formerly described himself as a communist.

Check him out if you are interested.

Too many of the links are partisan or unreliable so I won't post any.

These are the sort of people who will make it difficult for the Democrats to get president re-elected next time, or to gain seats. If we have learned anything from the past 4 years, it is that we should not be looking at the USA through European eyes. The impression I get is that very many Americans don't buy into the tearful, right-on, let's hug trans people ethos and prefer the rough and ready brand of politics that Trumpism offers. It didn't work out this time for all sorts of reasons but as we know, 4 years is an eternity in politics.

Or we could look at the data coming out of the elections that strongly suggest progressive, so called "right on" issues actually played very well with the electorate. Trumps biggest gains were on the economy.

Karl Dieter does himself no favours by appearing on these types of shows, he comes across as petulant, a bit reminiscent of soon to be former president trump.

"Would two weeks to open and then shut down after Christmas suit you"

Well, Brendan if RTE chose to pay you only for the weekends that you were presenting the show, how would that suit you?

It's really baffling how a man who took a position in RTE for the stability, having previous been an outlier, doesn't understand the value of a stable pay packet.

Nigella surely has the sexiest voice on the airwaves ...

Why does he have to mention the death of Nigella’s mother and husband?! She sounded a little taken aback to me.
For god’s sake RTE, stop endlessly zooming in on misery...
