That’s for sale a very long time.

I don’t even think for sale is a fair term he’s surely not trying to sell it.

That's what's been making those noises in my car 😂.
I thought it had something to do with the immobilizer

It’s a reminder to clip the front panel off and carry it around with you for security reasons :D

I have a panasonic Radio with clip on face in my 01 Vitara.

It also makes that "security" noise, when you shut off the ignition. (Like its chewing up a tape....or footsteps on a gravel driveway)

With or without the front panels?

I had one in a Golf about 15 years ago. Thought I was the man because it had a remote control!

You could put it in the back pocket of your boot cut jeans for safe keeping

5dr and the 1.3 a great match of undesirability...

Yeah, wicked money for it. It's like an amateur attempt at Deane Motors carry on.

I know they're scarce now but it's too new to be paraded around as a classic. Missing the rear wiper, missing it's antenna, had bodywork on the N/S front wing, not the OE hub caps (which are a lot of the charm of those IMO) and out of test.

If you're going to attempt for big money on a yoke like that that you pulled out of a ditch for €250, you'd want to have the car absolutely ****ing mint, no opportunity to fault it, NCT disc in the windscreen, ready to sit in and drive.

He can't even straighten up the mat in the footwell for the photos.

    Total dreamer.

For comparison, I gave €500 for this a couple of weeks ago. Doing a refurbishment on it as a winter/lockdown project.

Not a bit of rust on it, only 36k, Zetec, and its the more desirable 3 door.

I had one of those in the same variant and colour and the day it was collected by the scrappers was a good day :)

OE hub caps and colour codes bumpers make a world of difference to it!

1997 is not vintage, actually that engine is, thirsty rattly gutless yoke.

Defiantly not 'vintage', but these can be insured as a classic now.

The pushrod engine is ancient alright. Basically the same engine that I have in my 1985 Fiesta, and it was around a good while even then.

Its crapness has a charm in an older car, but in the Mk4 it was well past its prime.

It is a reliable lump however.
