Did you shut the account at all at all.

The account is still open even with a nil balance. You have to close the account.

That an post current account is a rip off...credit union is free for savings.
Well it's 12quid a year cheaper than pTSB (my account).
Luckily I shop in Lidl and get 5% on any receipt over 25e back which covers the fiver.
I don't think AnPost charge for savings accounts.

Did she get her statement on a Friday?

If so it could have been Foiver Friday.

    I'll get me coat

I have one of the older accounts with PTSB I don't pay any fees as I lodge my wages with them

The government let An Post open current accounts. Now the cretins who open them don't understand what they are

    This is ridiculous.

Any researcher could have figured this oiut in 10 seconds.

Its a current account that carries a 5 euro fee per month. This is stated very clearly when you sign up.

I had one of those and they changed it from that to fee paying.

That's going out the window. Every bank is bringing in monthly fees. And they're all going to charge interest on large deposits
