Does talker 10 semi regularly drop to 35 in Tesco? It was the first smoky scotch I bought (December 2018) and I don't think I would have got it unless it was that cheap. I've said it to people and they reckon I must be remembering wrong. That it would never drop that low

€30 in Tesco in the weeks before Christmas 2018 & 2019. Fingers crossed for 2020!

Thanks for that, have been using weekly 5 euro off vouchers to get Crested for 20 euro for last weeks, but this ended yesterday I think. Black Barrell for 25 euro net will be the perfect replacement methinks.

Method and Madness gin is €34 in Dunnes. Bought two at that price. It's going to be an expensive few months with the start of these deals!

Is it good? My stocks are dwindling so could be an option. (My lockdown habit of having a G&T while cooking is going to be expensive).

    There's loads more geographic distilleries.
    Boann
    Slane
    Dublin Whiskey Company
    Powerscourt
    Ballykeefe
    Blackwater
    Cape Clear
    Dingle
    Lough Gill
    Connacht Whiskey

    Plus the big ones
Bushmills (who use a lot of bought stock)
Tullamore Dew...produced in Cork for 50 years.

A bigger issue for me, are the guys who aren't producing any whiskey, or don't even have a distillery. But happy to pretend that they do.

I think Dingle doesn’t belong on that list, but the rest of them I’ve no interest in buying, tasting or Even looking at.

It's a great Gin for the price imo and verified by my Wife ;)

Yeah it's lovely stuff. I've bought the missus a nice collection of gins to justify my whiskey purchases and she always goes back to that one. Says it's that nice it's spoiled the other ones for her as they don't compete.

Added to my shopping list so. Just what I need, more alcohol!

Got the Dalmore samples this morning from Celtic Whiskey but they only sent 4 samples instead of 5. If anybody ordered the same it's worth checking it out.

It's simply a list of distilleries named after locations.
How, in your view, does Dingle not belong there?

Fingers crossed. I missed out on my usual company trip to Taste of Dublin and the Roe and Co tram this year!

Because the discussion is about Distilleries that are using their name to bottle other distilleries spirit.

Dingle produces, Ages bottles and sells it’s own spirit.

My trip to Dunnes to get the Method & Madness led to another discovery. The Midleton miniature pack so highly rated here is reduced to €30.50. Be rude not to.

They've a lot of reductions in spirits but I had to avert my eyes and get out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Leinster90

Has anyone ever seen the Midleton Barry Crockett on some type of sale on Amazon, or discounted anywhere for that matter?

Is that the Single Pot Still Whiskies one with the Redbreast 12, Green Spot, Powers John's Lane (46%) and Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy in it?

Tesco have dropped the price of Black Barrel to €30 again same as last year. Great price for it. Essential trip to Tesco during lockdown required.

Sold 5 bottles of Scotch to a bar tonight: 2 x 1ltr of Ardbeg 10 , 1x 70cl of Talisker 10, & 2 70cl of Laphroaig 10 - made enough profit to buy 1ltr of Ardbeg 10 and still have a wee bit of cash in the pocket. So delighted to say I'm drinking Ardbeg 10 for the first time in 7 months!! Yeeeooo

Why do I suspect that what you are doing isn't strictly legal?
Where did this whisky come from?

I probably wouldn't be posting about it, publicly.

SuperValu have Roe & Co for €30 - never tried it, worth a dabble? Also has anybody tried the Jameson cold brew? For an extra tenner I might just get a bottle of crested instead
