This could actually be, or have been a valuable public service, in pointing the spotlight on the process to become a contract tracer.

When does he introduce it? At 2.50pm, after spending half an hour on Aileen and Jimmy.

All its short of asking is 'where do you see yourself in 5 years'. I'm thinking of people who answered that question in interviews 5 years ago!

Surely if she's got verified substantial work experience that has brought her up to the level of good skills the leaving cert should not be necessary. It is possible to achieve a PhD without ever having done a Leaving Cert.

State jobs almost always require a LC. I really admire people who have made a career without one and appreciate that school is not for everyone.

However the moaning and entitlement from some people who have either not done the LC or who lost their results is hilarious. It's all but but but me me me.

exactly. Its completely irrelevant to anyone that hasn't just left school. I have never used my results in any job

I can verify that there very much ARE jobs for the boys in the public service, it happens in DCC Libraries for temp jobs. Children of the staff are invariably offered the temp positions (summer/evening/weekend shifts) before any outsiders.

They should be making it easy for people to apply when the system is about to collapse. Your leaving doesn't matter if you have twenty years work experience, it doesn't in the real world so there is no need for it to in a state job.

Your last two jobs, references is enough. Who cares what anyone got in their leaving cert a million years ago.

but no we must have the bureaucracy because we always have that and changing it to be like any other job would just be wrong.

Lets just let the system collapse.

To be honest, I'm actually fuming. Perhaps to the point of writing to someone. We had yer one from Lancashire who can't visit her mother in a nursing home, after ironically enough yesterdays show. Then the life history of Aileen and Jimmy, then I forget who else, and then yer one from Bray who's biggest complaint in her free accomodation was she waited an hour for butter and the TV has no remote, and then a story that might actually have value to the nation gets wedged in in the last 5 minutes of the programme.

because he's Matt Tress Mick and not TV Tony.

I half-caught that. Did she mean someone from the HSE went out and got a pound of butter and delivered it to her?

She was in emergency accomodation and her 1 year old tested positive. She was told she was being moved to alternative accomodation for people who are close contacts of someone who have tested positive. She said it's basically a hotel just not up to her standards. She rang down to reception to get butter delivered up to her and it took them an hour to deliver it, and on top of that, there's no remote for the TV.

Clearly a matter of national importance.

On a very trivial note got my official Christmas cruise cancellation email just now :( ; however apart from a full refund on offer I have the option of them keeping the money and adding 10% credit into it for a cruise within next two years or when a COVID situation allows cruising again. :)

That's better than having it in any bank! Plus I get full double loyalty bonus points which means an extra big discount! Think I will book a few cruises as a means of savings!

The system is not struggling because of the admittedly poor application system. They'll have no shortage of applicants who DO actually have a LC. Nothing to do with the moaners who rang in to complain about it on LL today.

How is the poor crathur going to get her "wages" on payday jaysis, if she and the kids are in 14 day quarantine. She must have it paid into the bank otherwise the remote control and butter delivery is the least of her worries. Crackpot stuff.
