I know its a minority but some people really don't get it, its a kick in the face to workers, buisness owners, people with cancelled medical appointments and everyone struggling to do their best at present.
I'm no lover of lockdowns and question the severity of some restrictions and logic of others. But i still respect the virus, keep my contacts down and don't gather in crowded spaces even if outside.

There is a queue of over 6km on the N22 approaching the Garda checkpoint in Cork.

It’s those who are simply trying to get to work and having a difficult enough time as is I feel sorry for.

This is the nub of the issue.

If everyone ( or a large majority of people) did this, then we wouldn't have a fraction of the restrictions we have now.

Unfortunately, a large minority of people are selfish and think they know better.

1 shows not a single.person wearing a mask, so is probably from years ago
Last one has a comment under saying town was dead.
Family member was there last night till 6 and closed shop as Grafton st was dead.

Hmmmm.

Selfish pricks will always be selfish pricks and indeed they have played their part.

But make no mistake the majority of the blame goes on inept governance bowing to lobby groups and above all else ignoring science.

The 3 main reasons the virus has reseeded nationally.

1. Pinky Promise Border Control.

2. Encouraging the entire island to move around and even offering money to go on staycation.

3. Not having the balls or foresight to shutter what needs to stay shuttered or limit what needs to be limited, whilst not doing any sort of surveillance on the virus nationally.

Add to that the absolute dumbfúckery of the HSE and you get where we are this morning.

I'd be surprised if there is any easing of restrictions before the 14th of December and even more surprised we are not back into stay at home restrictions 6-8 weeks later.

I can tell you here+ now this Level 5 is not going to work.

I have a long commute to work + it was actually busier this morning as more trucks on road.

What do they expect with over 1 million having to travel to school etc.

In Cork, there’s a 6km queue on the N22. There’s a 6km queue on the N25. It’s taking 40 minutes to get through these checkpoints

There’s a 2km queue on the N71 but this is easier to avoid.

Well my daughter delayed over half hour on the motorway huge tale backs. She would off been late for work. She is always 20mins early every morning her commute take 1hr 15m.

Long tail back on some routes according to RTE news Garda diverting traffic to question drivers. At 8.30/9.00 in the morning it's obvious people ain't heading off on a jolly.
