Aren't the majority of us schools gone fully remote?

Public schools maybe and that depends on the state. A lot of private schools like the one my child attends are fully open. They even have more students this year as parents have switched to make sure their kids have in person learning. Just another way the less well off are suffering due to shutdowns.

A bit off topic but can someone explain to me what happened to Dave Cullen? I used to find his early videos interesting but the whole lockdown situation seems to have him channelling his inner Alex Jones.

What is this "reset" he is babbling about?

It's called going for the low hanging fruit.

Post that question in the conspiracy theory forum. But hold onto your head

Deserves a thread of its own.

Yeah, sorry folks and mods, more conspiracy thread then covid thread. I find it baffling to be honest. I am noticing a minority of the people I interact with through my job carry diluted or comparable opinions. Worrying since it will just cause the spikes that we are trying to reduce (anti-maskers and the like).

Will there be enough of an improvement in time to go back to level 2 for Christmas.

The track & trace call contact centre is like something out of the 1970's, they have phone handsets instead of headsets so have the phone in one hand struggling to type on the other, they won't spend a hundred to save a few thousand in efficiency, typical HSE/Government.

Interesting survey. Amongst other things, of schools surveyed 1 in every 4 schools have experienced a covid case/s in their school. 1 in 4 schools also saying that they do not have a suitable isolation room for covid cases.

Can someone help me with the rules: positive spouse, isolates for 10 days from what day- date he became symptomatic and started isolating? Spouse and kids (if negative) restrict movements for 14 days from what day, the day spouse got symptoms or the day they test negative? What happens to the few days in between, could the recovered spouse get reinfected immediately if negative spouse/kids show symptoms on day 13 for example? Can recovered spouse leave the house after 10 days even if others are still restricting ?

The fact there hasn't been more of a fuss over this is amazing..

The same people championing this are scolding any moves made for power in Poland and Hungary.....

this move right now is significantly more extreme and violating of our civil rights than anything these guys have done...

No. How would you get there, especially with a 5km limit now!

If this happened in another country we would have EmmaJanPansy screamy it is a coup and a violation of our human rights...

What is happening in Ireland right now is disgusting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,784 ✭✭✭froog

Will our hospitals really 'get overrun with Covid 19 patients'? Last time we heard this, we invested millions in booking up private hospital beds only to leave them empty. An over reaction to what we feared could happen but which never materialised (except in our imagination).

you seriously don't know why it didn't happen here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭saabsaab

A second wave was always on the cards especially when so many were not taking basic precautions.

If you're leaving the country, to be fair, it's not a worry for those staying behind in terms of covid.

Tony would want the pubs closed and everyone locked up of there was no covid never mind now, now if you have cancer in a nursing home then do what you want.
