Hope not if City's injuries are to go by the last few seasons. Full of sick notes

He's referring to the ones at Barcelona

Didn't see Barcelona mentioned. Why, what was the story there?

Massive change in odds now after that news. City gone to odds on. They were almost 2/1. Liverpool out to almost 3/1. City's to lose imo.

An expected swing I think. I think Liverpool will still have enough to win the league without VVD if he is out. I think they'll drop more points this season than last but so will City.

Think the real struggle without VVD will be in the CL where the games will be tougher.

This side of January Liverpool have City awa and Spurs at home out of the top teams left,
They can cope with Gomez and Matip but the huge issue is keeping Gomez and Matip fit which won't be possible,

Neither play at the same level without VVD. Gomez takes ages to get going after a while out. Matip is good, but picks up injuries. Fabinho will get plenty of games there.

Villa can go top Friday evening, should be a good battle with Everton for the title.

Villa 2 goals conceded in 4 games. Look to be the only team capable of defending

Aston Villa with the last 100% record for this season in the PL

Cityz title to win with the news of VVD needing surgery
A lot of people saying similar things. If that's the case the recriutment team need to take a long hard look at themselves at the club. A team Like Liverpool who expect to compete for muliple trophies and have vast recources should not have their entire season derailed by the loss of one player no matter how good he is.

Was the lack of Laporte not one of the main reasons given as to why City didn't challenge last season?

Their season is not derailed, its just an over reaction by some fans, pathetic to be honest,Of course its going to be a lot harder win the league without him but jesus some saying liverpool's season is over would give you serious ire

Not just Laporte. What difference would that make though? Whataboutery?

Did nobody among the Liverpool supporting crowd raise the point that maybe it wasn't a great idea to go with 3 senior cbs with 2 of them having real injury concerns also?

It certainly would. Thiago's signing is even more important now. Midfield options are fairly plentiful, which will allow Fabinho to play more games at centre half. Keeping Gomez and Matip fit will be key. Getting Allison back as soon as possible too. Having Jota is a real added advantage aswell.
Liverpool have hit a bump but hardly a derailment.

I'd agree with that, squad should be strong enough to see them through. It's not like city are pulling up any trees.

It's not simply that VVD is out for the season, and will be replaced be another defender.
It's the psychological blow of that, you need Klopp to keep the spirits up and to get over it quickly.

Especially galling when Virg was considered the reliable ever-present one of the three.

As of today, Liverpool have two injury-prone players as our only identified senior CB's available. Fabinho will play a lot of games there. I can see Nat Philips getting games.

It's such a punishing schedule coming up too.

Fab will have to play his fair share in Cl and EPL games simply because we have midfield cover.

It may not be ideal cover but you can pick three from Tiago, Milner, Ox, Hendo, Wini, Keita, Shaq whereas zero senior cover at CB if either of the two is out.

True. Same principle applies I suppose.

Everton look most dangerous side at liverpool at the moment and the league. Those lads look on the way up.

Actually a fair decent club so i wouldn't begrudge anything that comes their way.

Been a good team to watch so far this season

Next few games will be interesting

Soton(A) - Ings guaranteed to score
    Newcastle (A) - Tricky game
United (H) - Hard to see who Var will favor in that one

Points wise, I'd be looking for 5 or 6!

Edit: Just saw Uniteds lead up to our game:

    Chelsea(H)
    Arsenal (H)

Tough run of games be interesting to see which United turns up

Ings will bang 1 in no doubt, DCL looks absolute lethal and ye look very gelled together..
Newcastle could be trivcky, i thought the same myself before the utd game.

Ye'll hit europa at least the way your going.

Used to pop in the Everton thread for a read and jaysus it was always dire stuff.

Good to see everton do well

I'd agree there. Two potential leg-breakers in one game by the same team, not sure when I've seen that last.
