And if you think the reasoning for not being a fan is "science" - you've bigger things to worry about than simply joining a club for 'fun"

Btw pointing out reality - isn't 'bitter' or whatever projection you're throwing out today

Look we get it - # gretas No. 1 fan club

Though God knows why anyone would hang their hat on a troubled teenager who apparently hates adults and blames them for ruining her childhood or wtte.

I think this is a good place to quote an earlier comment

It didn't make sense earlier, repeating it doesn't change that. You can take it as read.

It's more fun being in a club about something you admire rather than something you hate or are bitter about.

Much better life philosophy all round.
Ah but sure what club is that? A teen fan club? Most people here are well into the environment and trying to save it, the disagreements centre around following an obnoxious unwell child and a bunch of "science" which is basically never right.
It's been predicting imminent doom of one sort for almost half a century now.

Well I'll warrant not to some for sure. To the rest of those using their faculties - I doubt it presents any issues tbf.

Of course they’re Thunberg berries! They’re Thunberg Bushes!

A whole thread of middle aged men **** themselves silly about how much they hate a teenage girl.

Yea lads, Greta is your problem :pac:

I don't think all of them hate her; most seem to worship her, which is in its own way as disturbing as your saying.

It obviously made you feel offended enough to make you write a disparaging reply. :)

    Oh, gosh no -

I made a statement, I suppose it's up to whoever reads it to decide if they're offended by it or not.

My point is, if that statement offends you - you probably should take stock of yourself.

*not you - as in you (the quoted poster) particularly

Anyone with a functioning brain should be anti Trump imo ... The fact she supports Biden shows she is a clever girl

If 'anyone with a functioning brain' should be anti-Trump then how does being anti-Trump show you are clever exactly? It's not long ago she was saying she was more or less apolitical. A sad turn of events.

I thought it was clear what the user was saying,

    Being Anti Trump: "functioning brain"

Supporting Biden (and being anti-trump): "clever"

Not that I endorse sweeping inflammatory remarks like "anyone with a functioning brain ra ra ra" - which is almost always a poorly veiled way to be uncivil towards other contributors.

No, you dont have to be pro-Biden/Democrat/Leftist/Antifa whatever crap to be anti-Trump, the whole world despises him for a reason.

Even people for whom a good case could be made that they're war criminals like Bush and Cheney can be said to be products of their circumstances and events. Trump is on a complete other level of disgusting pointless stupidity and corruption, you wouldnt find Bush or Cheney mocking people for wearing masks in a global pandemic for example, and thats not even the most extreme example among literally thousands.

You could pick any other Republican like McConnell or whoever and understand their motivations no matter how distasteful you find them but theres no understanding for Trump, he's a comically stupid individual, anyone who listens to the way he speaks and views his actions and ideas and approves of that really is wrong in the head.

Well if we go by some of the greta fan club stuff on this thread - it certainly doesn't :pac:

Reckon it's just the screamers choosing to be offended again or something. I somehow don't think our own greta is a fan of Trump tbh

    _110116378_tv056747050.jpg
get back to greta and facts -
she is used as a distraction as many ice ages and heat ups
along with we moving closer to the sun-
no matter what we do the planet is and will heat along with
probably another ice age before we burn.
all bluff to collet more tax abusing a child to use as "frontman"
for scare tactics and try to validify false facts of humans as source
    of the climate change.
A reminder for the "crowd" ,If water levels returned to the same as 10,000
years ago melt. majority of major cities across planet will be under water.
london new york etc. all not habitable and this is what the politicians "think" they can
delay by reduce human made "problem" which in fact is tiny percentage.

looks like fans are livid of Gretas inclusion in the new Spitting Image Series - with fans again harking on about her age and etc ...
Spitting Image insists Greta Thunberg is fair game after puppet backlash: ‘It is nothing to do with her as an individual’

    https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/spitting-image-greta-thunberg-puppet-return-date-britbox-b712262.html%3famp

Personally I think she makes a great addition to the series. A new beginning in comedy perhaps ...

So she's too young to make fun of, but old enough that we should hang on her every dictat? Right.

Seems like a lifetime ago when schoolkids were demonstrating/protesting. I remember thinking it was organic until on lunch breaks started to see the school buses come in and the teachers directing the day. Lol, beats being stuck in a classroom I suppose.

See, you are just giving the Greta supporters ammunition with stupid statements like that. We'll all (rightly or wrongly) have to take the abuse now about being sad perverted old white men (*not racist) because of this kind of statement. The conversation will (has?) become more and more extreme and no constructive conversation will take place. I don't mind that we don't see eye to eye but if this conversation becomes toxic the thread should be shut for the mental health of all participants.

A discussion thread which periodically is high-jacked by a small number belonging to the I :❤: greta club who allow no comment or any criticism whatsover and the occasional sicko who turns up trying to derail the thread and throwing ****e at posters they disagree with - but otherwise not engaging in the discussion.

    Thats it in a nutshell.

You forgot farmers who are unwilling to update their heavily-subsidised businesses in order to combat climate-change so they give out about Greta because she gets media attention on the subject of aforementioned climate-change.

I'm going to go with rightly,

By posting in agreement with the general feel of this thread you participate in the tacit approval of the bile that is routinely posted in here about a child.

Now, if you disagree with the message on climate change, and would like to discuss it in a technical manner - I'm sure there are other threads and forums to do so.

This thread is solely about abusing a child, as you can see.

*Funny - that because I object to this child being objectified, abused, ridiculed & also wished into Porn and whatnot - that makes me a Greta supporter - when I have never even given my position on her message in this thread.. makes ya think

Hey don't forget the Martians as well. Apparently they all post on boards as they like their planet as it is and are doing the best they can - but dont want greta screaming at them next after she's finished with all the 'adults' on earth

But sure they're probably all just jealous of the media attention she gets or something :pac:

A fairly transparent tactic commonly used here these days when that person has no actual argument. I've been told I'm a leftie because I disagree with those holding far-right views recently. Amazing leaps these folks take in order to feel justified.

So the absolute majority of comments discussing gretas and friends antics and announcements are dismissed because you say so? Things like how her personal approach to "the science" is absolute horse manure has no relevance to you no ?

Way too much of this hit and run type of crack going on- from a few who turn up, throw ****e dont engage in the discussion* and leave. Only to occasionally return rinse and repeat.

If you have an issue with a comment - its easy to report it. But don't try and use proverbial hysterics and tear everyone else's hair out.

TBH the whole of boards & online discussion in general has been taken over by hysterics, this forum: Current Affairs/IMHO was designed as a place for those with extreme & entrenched views to go and fling shit at each other. So my view, if you can't beat them - join them.
