Just went on his tweeter there.
He retweeted a tweet saying it was thought in February the fatality rate was 5% nobody fcking thought that! Then the tweet used that pathetic statement to claim covid is 100 times less severe than swine flu.

In short, if he was worth any merit he would not be retweeting such blatant crap.

On a pedantic note as far back as February the infection fatality rate, globally, was estimated at 0.5%.The case fatality rate, globally, was around 3%.

You'll have to point me to where I suggested they're similar in ways other than the rubbish they spout about COVID there.

You put them in the same sentence so as to imply parity between the two, I was just curious as how alike they are?

I guess as a guy who retweeted something that wasn't his opinion and wasn't stated as fact by him, plus he's not a figure in authority that this example isn't a reason for people to stop watching his videos?

Gerry Killeen should emigrate and get a job writing for the Daily Express.

There's probably a lot of support for what Gerry Killeen stated last night on here, can they possibly point us to the scientific reasoning that shows without further restrictions that we will see 30,000 people die in the coming months?

Why would you retweet some thing that is blatantly false? Especially when it could influence people's behaviors and perception of the illness. That's just irresponsible at best.

You don't think he was endorsing the opinion of the tweet? Given his collection of retweets it is an incredible stretch of the imagination to suppose he retweeted the information because he thought it was false.

You do realise that the majority of Australia has been living a very normal life for the last 4 months? Even majority of people in Melbourne support the police and that lady got what she deserved and some think they didn’t go far enough.

The police in in Australia are actually real police ...they are not like the Guards where most people who not following the guidelines don’t really take them that seriously.

She literally only posted a message on Facebook. How far should they have gone. Christ, thank god looneys like you are in the tiny minority. Thought crimes would be through the roof, people would be getting “re-educated” by the dozens in special camps.

This is a pretty decent debunking of a few of his claims.

File him away with that other clown Michael Levitt.

One thing he did say, a vaccine arriving at all "is a coin toss". That's reasonable given none ever arrived for SARS-1 and decades were spent looking for one for HIV. So what's the end game here, when, at what point in time, do we know there won't be a vaccine, we don't!

So what's the strategy here? Gerry also regularly asks that question.

Where I don't agree with him: eradication is not possible. So what's the end game? We cannot rely on the arrival of a vaccine.

As I understood it the figure he used was based on the idea of the potential death toll over the entire duration of the pandemic if it was allowed to run riot with no control measures. And he said "20-30 thousand" He wasn't saying that we'll have that death figure as things stand.

It's not a totally outlandish figure to be honest. With a severe lockdown we still had 1800 deaths, which would have been much higher without the efforts made to suppress the virus. And we'll have more deaths in this second wave and until this is finished.

He can come across as very odd on TV whenever he's interviewed and loads of people on here think he's a madman, but the longer this goes on the more I think he's actually telling it like it is.

Why is having a YouTube channel a requirement to show a crack pot is a crackpot?

    a) Sounds like he fell off a turnip cart

    b) he knows his audience and cleverly makes the facts and figures fit their retarded narrative. To some it’s almost believable.

He writes nutrition books etc, any exposure is better than no exposure ...right?

The majority of them deaths happened at the start when nobody knew anything about it and it was allowed to get into nursing homes. Unless we go back to having no restrictions, I cannot see how we will reach anywhere near them deaths

I wonder if this is because level 3 isn't restrictive enough or because too many people aren't following the restrictions?
