Since when did Level 3 state no visitors whatsoever ?

From the outset level 3 has had the option of restricting to your own household.

Is there a clear message for everyone out there now? Hopefully there is. But it is not very clear either what we can and can't do. FGS give us a few one liners for everyone's sake thanks.

I will look in the morning, too depressing this time o night.

But will check in to see anyway.

The Dail Bar is still open so, that's good news for our heroes Leo, Micheal and I'm sure Tony will get a free pass in :)

You're all still thinking about the bad news, aren't you?

    Yet again:
Level 3 allows for “visitors from one other household only or own household only”, with the precise guideline to be determined by “prevailing public health advice for the county or other defined geographical area”

I'm starting to think people, dispute their constant discussion of the topic, never actually read the issued documents.

I have the Irish Times guidlines printed out and it clearly says Level 3 , one household only .I also have the Dublin Level 3 Covid guidelines ( from the Covid National guidlines ) saying the same
I dont know how to copy it to here

Ah, that must be where the confusion is: I didn't see the small print you quoted on the gov.ie website - https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/ad569-level-3/#social-and-family-gatherings. Still don't, mind. Maybe they took it out when they 'updated' (or, changed) the guidelines.

Regardless, producing a document with clear levels, but then introducing bits of level 4 into level 3 is going to lead to confusion, and certainly allows for it to be called 3.14 or 3.67 or whatever. A complete shítshow right from the beginning (Dublin is at level 3 but pubs can't open). I would love to see my boss's face if I produced something along those lines.

Most people haven't a clue how the levels work or the nuances within it. The poorly communicated rollout by FF and FG killed it stone dead. Level 2.5 on Day 1 made a mockery of it and the fact they were editing it immediately after rollout. It was probably the worst press conference an Irish government ever did.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

That is just the maximum allowable numbers under level 3.

It has been vague alright, and so many twists and turns.

    Need very clear messages now.

Exactly ! A complete farce of a national guideline . God sake they could at least get it right and make it clear

You'd wonder why they'd have to update it if it was all covered adequately with the proviso mentioned.

The present government have been unable to do clear messages from the minute they came to power. They have caused confusion with almost all their announcements, it is embarassing.

They don’t know what they don’t know, so it’s hard for them to give exact guidelines. It’s as obvious now as the inevitability of a second wave in virus season that they will continue to make it up as they go along.
We better get used to ambiguity and rolling with it, we’re going to be living this way for a long time yet.

I am out of self-isolation from a positive test on Saturday. My GF lives 25 mins away with her parents, and I normally stay there 4 nights a week anyway (apart from the prior lockdown). We had planned to have moved into a converted flat at home by now, but there have been multiple delays along the way, and it probably won't be until the new year now. She and her family tested negative, as did my parents (second test pending), and I have literally not visited any other household for ages now aside from my own and hers.

Judge me all ye want, I'm still visiting her. I can guarantee I won't be putting anyone in jeopardy in doing so, but her mental health in particular may be affected if I don't. If I am stopped, I'll tell them I'm on the way to school sure.

Will be like a soldier returning home after WW2

Playing the mental health card I see. What a load of nonsense.

Every country in Europe is having the same problem. Easing restrictions and then having to reintroduce them is very tricky. Hard lockdown was the easy bit.

    Or

The people know exactly what they should be doing, but are behaving like your friend

Would love to know what extra advertising you think would have made ppl not already observing all the things you list suddenly turn into decent citizens

The same posters whinging about controls to fight a deadly infectious disease would be the same people roaring if the govt took actual steps to enforce the requested behaviours would be the same people roaring about how we should have done x y and z six months ago and will be the same people crying when we need to go to level five for christmas

And they're the same people now who think their mates in Cavan going on jaunts are great men

Sure, though, the handful of people in the cabinet should just have asked people to behave themselves in a different tone of voice or used a different colour poster, that would've worked

    How bout this:

    - you can't win an argument with a ****in virus
    - people are responsible for their own behaviour and in these circumstances the country is exactly where it deserves to be

    How bout that?

Nah, blame de gubbermint, what else would ye do

Come down off your high horse.

I've met people from border counties and the North multiple times per week over the last few months. Neither I or any of the people I work with have contracted COVID because we socially distance and have good hygiene. We are also prepared to take personal responsibility.

NPHET and the Government have wasted over 6 months where they could've addressed what a blind man could see coming. Too many mixed messages and nowhere near enough pragmatic action. A complete failure.

I am not just talking about reintroducing restrictions. When they announced the new roadmap for reopening country they made a mess of that too. They are a shambles.

At least until end of March if not April next year, basically for the whole of virus season at a minimum.

So are many people then . Clear , precise messages is what we need
Either we are at Level 3 or 4 or 907 , but make it clear

Mind you the same eejits will carry on doing what they do even if it was a clear Level 907
