You also get a couple of 'free' games each month to keep as long as you keep your subscription.

    Worth adding too that PS Plus when the PS5 launches will have the PS Plus Collection which will have the following games available;

    God of War
    Bloodborne
    Monster Hunter World
    Final Fantasy XV
    Fallout 4
    Mortal Kombat X
    Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
    Ratchet and Clank
    Days Gone
    Until Dawn
    Detroit: Become Human
    Battlefield 1
    Infamous Second Son
    Batman: Arkham Knight
    The Last Guardian
    The Last of Us Remastered
    Persona 5
    Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

So depending on what you've played, what you're getting etc., it may be a nice addition of a game library of some pretty great games.

That's a pretty solid list to be fair. I have most of them already but if I was moving from xbox to the PS5 it would be a nice little sweetener.

Looking back through the thread but I can't see it.

Was it mentioned that PS4 games could still be installed on an external HD? Hopefully yes, it would help save valuable SSD space until we see the upgrade modules being released.

So would it be cheaper to buy he PS4 version of these games and get the PS5 upgrade download?

Is that how it will work, download an update does anyone know?

It varies, but the most common method is that you put the PS4 disc into the PS5, and the PS5 downloads the PS5 digital version. You then play the digital PS5 version but must have the PS4 disc in the machine. If you buy a digital PS4 game, you can then just download the digital PS5 game without any hassle.

And yes, it would be cheaper to just buy the PS4 version, this is what I am planning on doing.

Think I said before, but Smyths have PS4 and PS5 versions of Miles Morales at the same price. Same with Valhalla. Haven't checked others.
Do find it strange Valhalla and Miles Morales are the same price at 59.99

Miles Morales is technically a budget-priced title, with Sony increasing their prices, their budget titles are €59.99 where they might have been €39.99 before. Ubisoft have said they are not increasing their prices for next gen, so their full-priced games are staying at €59.99 across both platforms.

I completely ignored gwent on my first playthrough, got borderline addicted to it on my second playthrough, and avoided it like the plague in my 3rd playthrough.

I was the same, annoyed me into having to look up tutorials on Youtube. Kind of easyish after that.

Gwent is super straightforward easy on anything other than the final quest, but it’s a delight to play. It’s completely unbalanced but that’s the joy - it really makes you feel you’re progressing through the ranks gradually, even if your deck is just growing more overpowered :pac: Just try one or two of the early game quests and you’ll be flying quickly - and you’ll be swiftly consumed for a half dozen hours.

In contrast the actual standalone game feels a bit too competitive and carefully balanced - no surprise they had to change the very basics to get it to work in that way. Makes for a better game for the committed maybe, but there’s a simple, accessible purity to the Witcher 3 version that I didn’t get at all from some brief dabbling with the standalone.

Interesting, I never played Gwent in Witcher 3 (well I did one game and didn't get it), but then I played Thronebreaker and got really into it. After that I tried the standalone game but couldn't get into it at all, I think it's like you said, the standalone game is so finely balanced, it just never felt as fun as building up my OP deck in Thronebreaker.

Can anyone recommend some good - reasonable priced - library of PS4 games to have in stock for PS5 launch in November I could pickup in cex? (or buy used privately?)

I had an XBox last gen - so can have some catching up on Playstation titles - I'm into the campaign Skyrim / Fallout type games.

Ill be getting max one or two ps5 games at the quite high 70 euros each - but looking for some good filler titles till the ps5 games come down in price a bit or available used...

Be cheaper nearly to get PS+ and download something from the collection. You can get a subscription cheaper if you shop around a few places like CDKeys or Eneba.

The PS Plus Collection, for PS5, has a bunch of really good PS4 titles in it. You just need to sub to PS Plus.

    Batman: Arkham Knight
    Battlefield 1
    Bloodborne
    Days Gone
    Detroit: Become Human
    Fallout 4
    Final Fantasy XV
    God of War
    inFAMOUS: Second Son
    The Last Guardian
    The Last of Us Remastered
    Monster Hunter: World
    Mortal Kombat X
    Persona 5
    Ratchet & Clank
    Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
    Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
    Until Dawn

Thanks for the list - Myself, I like the idea of owning disks that don't expire - we like to revisit old games and consoles, I will be looking out for the above especially.. cheers.

It’s currently on sale in the psn store for €8.99. An absolute steal at that price and even more so considering the free upgrade to ps5.

Xbox uk tweeted "how to swap your console from vertical to horizontal" and just 2 pics, one standing and one on its side, as in no stand needed. They deleted it which is a pity cuz that's just funny banter like when Sony made a video how to swap games with your friends.

Is it not the complete edition that you can upgrade for free??

The free PS5 upgrade applies to both the base version and the Game of the Year Edition.

Wish I could get into that game, love a massive RPG. The combat never clicked with me :(

Yeah same, the combat and controls are abysmal.

They probably deleted it because the US Xbox account has been tweeting out some 'end the console wars' nonsense.

Also by my count that is about the 14th time the Xbox brand has gotten back at Sony for the sharing video. They should really stop trying, they are never going to top it.

Most people sold them to CEX before the price dropped. Tbh unless you are including a load of extras, you are not gonna get anywhere near 240 for it. If someone offers you 200 you should bite their hand off.

GS are offering 200 trade credit for a pro, though I know they’re in a lot of hot water for the pre-order mess.

I think you can bump that up to about 250 if you get their loyalty card and use the trade-credit against pre-orders (games/consoles)...
