He'll only play them for people who's round birthdays it is today.

Is it your roundy birthday today, Brendan?

No Losty, it I’m thinking of texting in for the double roundy as that cohort seems to be the fan base.

Few bars of The Boys from the County Armagh maybe would be good.

Only if it's the version sung by Bridie Gallagher.

Ronan Collins is 68 this Thursday. (Retirement coming up soon hopefully!)

As Ronan is a Contractor, he can go on as long as RTE want him, or as long as he wants to.

Been listening to RC for more years than i care to remember at this stage. He had a show in the afternoons, not sure was it rte 1 or 2. Be happy to see him going on for a few years yet.

Ronan was with RTE Radio 2 from the start in 1979 to 1985.

One of the (If not the only??) longest serving Radio 1 presenters currently on air, on a Mon - Fri basis since then.

I used to listen to Pat Kenny too who had a late night music show on rte 1.

Never has the flimsiest of "talent" had such an enduring and undeserved career on national radio.

Talent just like the current 'presenters'??
Ronan is a proper DJ....most radio fans can relate to him.

If today's show is a demonstration of "the flimsiest of talent", I'd take it all day every day.

You left out the important part in your post.

    In your opinion.

Ronan gutted that Brian Kennedy’s health has improved, yet had to mention how tough it is for musicians like him at the moment.

Ronan taking some Halloween competition callers on air today...it has been a while since he has done this.
Reminds me of his Radio 2 days.
