Watching the live broadcast this morning of the Special Committee Covid-19 Response it was revealed that NPHET failed to turn up for two previous sessions and no answers were forthcoming as to why. The collective silence told its own story. Due to the resultant time limitations it means that the number of questions that are allowed to be asked is drastically reduced.

I have to say, from Ryan down, I have never seen such an arrogant, obnoxious group of men gathered together and the same would apply to those not present.

It's a disgrace that these people are, to all intents and purposes, being allowed to run the country and it's time the Govt that is supposed to be in charge took charge instead of being in complete awe of this group as epitomised by the equally obnoxious Donnelly.

    I'm not in that camp.

Just amused at the turkeys voting for christmas.

Huffing and puffing and blowing their own house down. Real geniuses.

Watched a you tube video of Michael McNamara dissecting the covid stats and clearly demonstrating them to be the rubbish that they are. This comment underneath made me laugh though 100% agree with the sentiment.

Pat the tyrant Kenny should be made watch these vds, he has become completely deranged and wants the whole Country locked down and under military law. He is now no 1 enemy to the Irish people as far as I am concerned. The stats for deaths in this Country for the past week= cancer deaths 200 + 185 heart attacks

When you think of the misleading stats, plus the number who actually picked up covid in a hospital, the true risk in going about your daily life must be miniscule.

That clip should be required viewing for everyone in this country.

If we had a decent media it would be the lead story in every publication and on the state broadcaster.

The manipulation of cases and death numbers to create a sense of hysteria is bordering on the criminal as far as I'm concerned.

When the dust settles in years from now and we see what the actual death -rate is from Covid, there will be fury amongst the population, especially as the bill for this nonsense will have been presented for payment by this time.

I'm sure we can have a lovely expensive tribunal that will make some barristers millionaires while finding nobody to blame.

Why is it increasing all across Europe then?

I think a lot of people are motivated to pretend there isn't a problem when there is. If it mutated into something less bad there wouldn't still be waves of death in the most affected places still and in any case a mature, fair society shouldn't throw those who do have the luxury of old age or do have underlying conditions to the winds of faith so others can enjoy themselves.

Transfer of risk to others is one of the lowest acts there is...aka what the banking elite you all hate did a decade ago is exactly what you are proposing now. Hypocrites and charlatans.

We could act to suppress it to the maximum extent if we had more collective wisdom, but sadly we don't.

The people here so obsessed with rights and freedom that they have chained themselves to this message board to reply every twenty minutes for months on end!

I bought into the whole lockdown stategy back in March/April doing our part to flatten the curve and save the HSE , made sense - But today lectured by wealthy Doctors and media types like Kenny who do not have any financial worries , to lockdown for the next 6 months, when I don't know how I will pay my rent in 2 months time - thats my real fear , and where is the voice for other illness s that are now suffering like cancer, mental health - Somehow I don't think Pat Kenny is worried about paying his rent for the next 6 months.

The longer it drags out (I haven't seen any form of end game from the champions of this thread) the more and more people will not be able to pay rent and it will snowball into a credit contraction to make 2008 look like a blip.

You are collectively talking and walking us into a massive depression.

We need the maturity to seek to end it and not the tantrums and histrionics on display here.

I am talking about my own personal worries, and being lectured by wealthy people, like Kenny and some on NIPHT when most of them will not have to worry about where they are living in the next 6 months. Sorry if it makes other people depressed , but thats my reality.

Sorry for your troubles but you have to realise that the vast majority have been affected negatively in some shape or form.

All the more reason why you should be motivated to get serious about it as the glimmer of hope it was dying off around June was just a false flag. The writing is on the wall and you all just furthering it with your collective ignorance, sitting around backslapping each other if tyou find a chink in the armour of NPHET yet no body thanked the post from the person who works with PCR tests and knows a lot more about the likelihood of false positives and the margins of error.

I can only conclude you are cranks. If only we could ignore you but you are societies weakest link on this.

Welcome to the thread. That in bold - not a great start for you. You saying entire Europe doesnt have collective wisdom? What are you talking about?

Are you also upset flu cases are increasing across Europe too?

You registered here 6 months late. Now is not the time to bang the "WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER" drum. In fact there are not even mortgage breaks going... we are not all in this together. and I can assure you that EVERY politician has NOT been negatively affected in ANY shape.

Pretty much yes, that is what I'm saying.

I have no opinion on flu, it is a controlled problem.

An excellent start from me and a poor show from all the clowns here, so free that they are chained to boards 24/7.

And the disintegration of collective responsibility falls squarely at the feet of those resisting progress selfishly and I include the government in that.

    Wow. your 12th post.

    Talk about quick introduction.

I dont even know what to say to you, apart from why do 500,000 + die off flu every year if its a "controlled problem"?

Wow - such insencere empathy - yeah I will be really thinking about collective resposibilty, when I struggle to pay my rent in 2 months time, and wondering where to live , I'll be all up for another 9 month lockdown for a virus that is not as bad as we believed last March. Such utter nonsense.

As controlled as can be, there is a vaccine, do you want me to wave a wand and prevent old age too?

This is what annoys me about cranks, you play this whataboutery game, as if you care about flu or suicide or cancer when you just care about yourselves.

With unprecedented extreme global control covid deaths are already double that and we have 3 months to go. You are only arguing against yourself really.

To the other lad, compassion is best applied to the group and not the individual.
