We did, with ~25k cases and ~1.5k deaths over say 4 months (all rough figures)
Population of 4.8mil, that's 134 waves (based on 70% herd immunity), with 201k deaths (again over estimate) and only takes 44 years of rolling lockdowns.
Even if serology reports 5x the infection rate and ignoring deaths, it's still close to 9 years for the 'slow burn'
I forgot to mention, no pubs be open, no spectator sports and no outpatient appointments.
*totally late night drinking math, so feel free to tear them apart*

If that's what it takes then that's what it takes. It's certainly better than throwing the elderly and vulnerable to the wolves

How to fcuk can you have no symptoms for the thing and be spreading a thing at the same time.people really have been hoodwinked by this.how many people do people here know have either had the thing or died from it.I’m from a average sized town in Tipperary.i’ve only heard of one person in this parish that had it and no deaths.about 3 other people that I’ve heard off from neighbouring parishes had it as well.

You can't disagree with that science.

Jedward was totally ledge last night guys. Two inspirational young men with their heads screwed on. Calling out wackos like Van the man and other tin foil fools who don’t follow the rules. Two handsome lads who are great role models for our misguided youth, great breeding.

You are right. And they should be representing Ireland on Eurovision every year. Do you know if they jointly write each tweet or do they have a manager doing it for them?

    HSE Operations report out

    102 Hospitalisations

    17 in icu

    1 Death in CC

    8 Ventilated (-1)

Just to clarify if you’re hospitalized with a heart attack and test positive for Covid even though you have no symptoms you’re counted as a Covid patient

A staggering 380 doctors in India have died of covid, not just healthcare workers but only doctors. In comparison at least 900 healthcare workers in the US have perished, although this figure includes not only doctors but any medical professional so India's is probably far higher than that

The population of India is over 1 billion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must be taking the pish with these stats

    PERISHED

    stop the drama

    stop the scam

Not sure about that, I’ve heard that they can telepathically communicate with each other. Ripleys believe it or not kind of stuff.

It’s apparently a coincidence that cases have gone up since schools reopened, real cause is all the house parties

Hmm, whatever, but coming out with this study after a whole heap of worldwide talk about visors being useless smacks of jumping on the bandwagon. Prefer to have heard them saying this in July. (waits for someone to tell me they did ;) )

Yeah for sure it was obvious to the man on street initially. Then some studies showed it in may/june. RTE are doing a good thing raising it because I see plenty of them around especially in school. Good to tell people it’s not a valid substitution for a mask.

Death parties Pat. People putting down cans of Galahad and forgetting who was drinking what can. The macerana, cotton eyed Joe, rock the boat, toking on a big fat doob that’s getting passed around the room, people shifting, those people who want to drunkenly hug everyone, highly intoxicated individuals vomiting in kitchen sinks, there is a potential for bodily fluids to end up just about anywhere.

Right now, this week, this month we are creating a disaster for 2030, social unrest and deep deep poverty.

Shame on this government and shame on the reaction of the EU and western world.

    Where is the leadership?

Are you 'seriously' replying to that and talking about perspective?

Either on the wind up or deluded.

Totally. She showed great leadership when there were hundreds of thousands of migrants wandering around Europe.

    :pac::pac::pac:

Well at least during the economic crisis of 2008 there was a voice in Europe, even if it was mis directed, there was some reassurance....now, we have nothing..

We are letting diks like Boris and Trump lead the world.

We need a good leader, and unfortunately the future is very bleak,

I was wondering about that. What if a person is admitted for a surgery and tests positive, what happens then? Are they classified as a hospital Covid patient? Covid hospitalisations have increased since more hospitals opened up for procedures/surgeries.

Ignorance continue. They pick and choose what suits them as an outbreak cause.

Exactly even if covid wasn't an issue the conduct and hygiene at these parties is despicable. What anyone sees in those damned things I'll never know.
