Do I've to come up with every idea?

There will be parents that will take responsibility and get their kids computers and internet.

There will be the other crowd that expect the government to pay for, raise, educate, feed and clothes their kids.

I can only guess which category you fall into.

I'm a librarian and you'd be flouting all our regulations bringing in parents with groups of children. We're set up for very limited numbers and browsing.

Air brained idea with no idea of the logistics.

    326 cases - no deaths
152 cases are in Dublin, 32 in Cork, 22 in Donegal, 21 in Galway, 15 in Meath, 11 in Kildare, 9 in Kerry, 8 in Louth, 8 in Westmeath, 6 in Limerick, 6 in Mayo, 6 in Tipperary and 5 in Wexford, with the remaining 25 cases in 8 counties

Thanks. There's either an enormous backlog now, or they've been retesting a lot of positive cases!

    Colleges closed ???

They were always to go online for 90% of the first semester at least.

They were only ever to go into college if it was absolutely needed such as lab work.

Many colleges announced weeks ago that they would be moving largely online for remainder for 2020 some for the entire college year

I am starting a course next week that planned on 2 days . Theirs a practical element to it so its pretty difficult to see how it will go throughout the year. Probably zoom classes

32 in cork so cork seems to be holding around 30 cases which is too high but I suppose it’s good it’s holding and not going up.

And who would mind thrm there ?

Teachers. I think they're saying that education for those less advantaged would continue with teachers teaching them either in school or in libraries (though I'd imagine most schools wouldn't need the extra space, unless you were a DEIS school or something).

If it came to it, and schools had to close again, I think it is a very good idea to keep them open for the few that don't have the facilities at home. That's one thing that the UK got right over us.

Galway not looking good, gone back up again from yesterday.

Thanks. There's either an enormous backlog now, or they've been retesting a lot of positive cases!

Or they’ve started disregarding any positives that show up after the a full 35-45 pcr

The UK kept schools open for essential workers .

    No deaths which is great.

Seems to be a possible substantial backlog building up though, which could make for a very big number in a few days?

I hate to be tempting fate but the figures are reasonably stable over the last week.

Any day without a death is a good day.

Meant to say and/or libraries, and it would be for a particular set of students, not 'groups' as you put it.

Nope, we now seem to be down to just the one on Wednesdays.
They will consider going back to twice weekly but only if posters stop using 'Presser' and reinstate press conference.

There must be way more positive cases being retested these days. I fail to see how they could possibly be sitting on this 200 case backlog without a proper reason.

It has to be the second positive swab for already positive cases.

Don't they do this for all children anyway, apart from those from homeschooling families?

Its not good holding on to a backlog for too long.

It's been up there a week or so. But with the population of Cork, 32 per day isn't actually high enough for further restrictions. I don't see it staying at that level though, but with a bit of luck and effort it will.

Thanks. There's either an enormous backlog now, or they've been retesting a lot of positive cases!

Gavan reilly put out a tweet about this my reading of it is that positive swabs include things like retests and 5 day second swabs, so that explain some of the discrepancy

Well according to the ***hole formerly known as John Taylor, it's foreign prostitutes in Letterkenny that are the problem.

Hopefully it's something like that but why would they test them twice? Otherwise we'll probably see a number close to 600 tomorrow
