    Ha ha serves them right!

The same thing happened in Achill last month after a pub had taken the piss after multiple warnings. The Gards objected to the license, the judge ruled the pub had to comply in the next two months and that was it.
    Expect something similar here.

On a day when Belgium dismissed cases as reasons for imposing restrictions, focusing the metric of hospital admissions, Donegal entered level 3 restrictions with a handful in hospital. Wet pubs closed because who the fcuk in their right mind is going to sit outside in this weather for a few drinks.

We are going around in circles. Businesses and people continue to suffer for a virus that doesn’t affect 99.5% of the population.

Heard of 3 suicides today that happened in the last 7 days. 16 year old girl, 23 and 29 year old men. Two of them in Kildare and one in Laois.

We don’t hear about those numbers, though.

Suicide is a huge issue in Ireland, always has been. Stop implying as if it's some sort of issue that's crept up in the last few months. It's crass.

The restrictions, isolation and job losses have exacerbated the issue, just as it did in 2008.
There is more of it to come with even less support for those in difficulty, unfortunately.

Who in there right mind would go to a pub in the current situation with covid everywhere and cares increasing every day.

This will be dismissed as hearsay because I’m anti restrictions but a city council worker in Cork was inspecting a vacant council property on Tuesday, and the poor man took his own life inside the house.
He wasn’t found till yesterday evening when a neighbour noticed that a city council vehicle had been parked outside all night and reported it to gardaí.

One of the worst, most tragic stories I’ve heard in ages, not that any suicide is better or worse than another. There does seem to be a huge increase of people taking their own lives in my locality.

I don’t think any one will dismiss it as hearsay, extremely sad to here. It would be fair to question why it is being talked about in a covid thread - I don’t see any reason to assume any link.

    And me. No hesitation.

I’ve been to “dry” pubs dozens of times in the last few months. Just checked - I’m not dead yet.

Hoping to have a few quiet ones in the local this weekend. Mmmmm, looking forward to that.

The sooner people realise, the only way out of this is down to the people.

Government can put whatever restrictions or use the Sweden model, but its down to the people and nonone else.

    The same as seasonal deaths.

People die of respitory illness at the same rate every year.

    Its crass to think otherwise

Who brought it into the nursing homes?

A friends factory had to close today, a guy got tested on Tuesday and kept going to work, result was positive today.

Walus isn't being callous, but highlighting suicide in the young seems to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Research has shown you can have suicide clusters, almost like an infection.Particularly since the advent of SM.
    It's incredibly sad.

This will for sure piss some people off.
But what's the point in saying Derry looks worrying, close to shutting down Donegal but keeping the border open.
At this point close it to see what difference it makes.
    Utter nonsense

A certain amount of fans. Hungary are advertising themselves open to host all sport events. There is a market for it, they will get the events also. Poland doing it also

They are doing all the basic things right

What difference it makes? I wouldn't be able to get to work for a start.

There are now two places in Europe banning public worship and they are both in Ireland: Dublin and Donegal.

    Says it all.

Hungarian government issued guidelines and the people followed them.
If they left the country they did quarantine when back.

We heard of quarantine here and threw the toys out of the pram.

The youngest population in Europe is now the most restrictive.

Knowing the mechanics of the virus, I hope the inquest is swift and brutal

A lot more counties need to move to level 3 now also along with Donegal to get ahead of this.

It’s laughable, absolutely laughable that there are people in here patting each other on the back for their anti-lock down comments when they are clearly the way to manage this virus. Imagine these mad men actually had a say in things, we can be thankful they don’t.

The biggest issue is the pace of acting is too slow. Dublin needs to go to level 4 now, not next week, other counties with high numbers need to go to level 3 now.

If we don’t get a handle on things before the October bank holiday we will definitely be facing level 5 in the weeks following that if we are not already at that stage.

You're doing everything right and I don't believe you're "bullying" your dad. We all know most oulfella's need a firm "no" when it comes to their health. I'd give up worrying about what everyone else is and to be honest, the tone of your posts are simply roiling up the anti-mask brigade. In fact I think a lot of people are just reacting to your posts to annoy you.

Your area has a very low rate of infection, you've in an enviable position with your qualifications and WFH status. You genuinely have nothing to worry about. There's lots of people that have no choice but to go to work.
I'd cease sparring with contrarians on threads like this. I've given up arguing with them, keep the head down, stay safe and continue keeping your family safe.
