Utter rubbish. Even those countries failed to create this utopia.
This is an endemic respiratory virus. None of your nannying rubbish will eliminate it. It’s time you face up to that and accepted it

Taiwan total cases 509 7 deaths

Don't know how this is allowed tbh. Seems to completely go against rational of having restrictions in the first place. https://twitter.com/NaomiOhReally/status/1309189505421840384

Donegal folks being contrarian as usual.

COVID deaths will be over 1 million by Monday next week, while not insignificant it is pretty mad to think that in the meantime about 34 million other people have died since March from all other causes. Doesn't seem all that large really when compared with other death figures

Its an example of the poor undisciplned behaviour. There was no compelling need for this Dublin group to get together for golf and craic. And this behaviour is being replicated by loads.

14 Day Dublin LEA incidence table for 08/09/2020 to 21/09/2020 is below aswell as table for percentage increase

4 Northside areas showing biggest increases, cases actually dropping in West Dublin Blanchardstown/Castleknock area. Still evident socio-economic pattern in the city

    Great info. Thanks.

I'm still in shock since MM spoke about the high cases in Stranolar. We're just home after a few fabulous days in Donegal. Stayed in Ballybofey, went for a walk last night and ended up in Stranolar. OH wanted to have a look at Finn Harp's ground, went into the Lidl there. We never took our masks off so fingers crossed.
I think high case numbers are more of a problem in Lifford-Strabane which crosses border between Donegal and Tyrone rather than Ballybofey-Stranorlar which is entirely in Donegal.

Wasn't even one the golf outing to Tullamore was between the 6th and the 10th of September. Dublin was not under further restrictions at that date.

Communions were brought forward in Dublin too to avoid lockdown. Even made Joe Duffy. Some idiot wanted her grandsons covid 19 test fastracked so he could attend.

Just because you are allowed do something doesn,t mean you should. We are in the midst of a global pandemic. Oh the deaths will ramp up in october because there is a significant lag between diagnosis rates and reported deaths

Good point but to use a covid denier's own argument "How many of the 34 million would have died anyway?"

I'm afraid to ask for a source.

I'm presumably reading it wrong without the labels, but I made it 18.. are the black numbers not the total deaths?

So now you're whinging about people that followed the guidelines.
The government has encouraged people to have staycations to support the economy and that is what this group did.
Your issue is with the government.

The family meets per se arent the issue with spread. Its the clowns that book hotels in groups of 40 so they can play a bit of golf. Its the family meets that have loads of attendees for a drunken bbq
Family clusters are a big problem and a particular concern in Donegal. Got a special mention in tonight’s briefing. Large families in Donegal and often they are living close to each other. Donegal people have a tendency to stay in Donegal like those in Cork. As MM said people are often feel more relaxed around other family members and in homes, any semblance of social distancing disappears quickly.
