Seems absolutely retarded that they dont even ask for a rough idea of the public places a person might have been in the past 5 days for contact tracing.

Just a simple "what hotels, restaurants, matches, cinemas, pubs etc have you been to in last 5 days". Even ask them to email on the info if they dont have it to hand immediately etc.

What's gonna happen in three weeks time when the cases keep rising and they realise that they've been clutching at straws and pubs/restaurants are not the cause of the spread? Open them back up or spin the yarn that it's now far too dangerous to allow a re-opening?

Yep, no indoor gatherings at all.

    Jesus, what a shocking post.

House parties isn't just teenagers going mad. It also covers those dinner parties, Sunday dinners with your granny, tea parties with the neighbours etc. Of course it is insanity to give Gardai powers to break up house parties.

Yeah I'm sure those dinners are the ones that are causing problems :pac:

He picked one simple path through it and expanded on it quite well.

One question he said weddings can go ahead this weekend under level 2 restrictions,

Does that mean if your a dublin wedsi g getting married in Meath (5minutes over the boarder) tomorrow its OK for all 40 guest to Travel

    It's a wedding only venue?

I agree about the first part but not about him passing the blame. NPHET are the experts

This virus does not pose a significant risk to the vast majority of people. Our responses since mid-May have been vastly disproportionate to this fact.

New cases means nothing. We still, several weeks into the "resurgence", have only a handful in hospital and even less dying - yet you'd think armageddon was upon us with the measures being imposed

And they're to post out their latest strategy to everyone in the country I heard on the radio ads earlier. Why? They keep randomly varying the supposed "levels" anyway. How much is this exercise going to cost the taxpayer?

    Farcical stuff

Why can't they reveal to us a level of X per 100k will mean level X. We are relying on back of a cigarette packet calculations.

I'm curious how the rest of the counties will fair. Dublin is just ahead of them. Will the pubs opening in the rest of the country reduce new cases or increase?
He'll be back on tv in a few weeks with new restrictions to other countries!

God love any dubs going down the country with their Dublin jerseys, they will be treated like Texans!

I mean, surely people aren't having dinners all over town and expecting that won't spread it. My family all meet at a distance outdoors.

It'll be at least 3 weeks - but probably 5... looking at the calendar they might want to drag it out past the October bank holiday and school mid-terms?
I'd say it'll be the first week in November before Dublin goes back to 2!

Watching george lee on rte and he comments that in March we had some of the lowest numbers of icu beds available in Europe.
    What number was that?
    What number is it now?
Surely we have built/ acquired more icu beds in 7 months?

Thought the restriction exemption was based on the guest numbers remaining at 50 instead of reducing to 25.
At this stage I’d say the venue will interpret this themselves, maybe best to ask them

People are not like us or our families. We all do things our own way.

This is going to happen to other counties all through winter, I've no doubt about it.

Its not worth reopening, too much of a financial risk only to have thr possibility of being closed again

    True

Couldn't have a bank holiday without restrictions
