Yea fingers crossed. Have a table booked to watch the rugby in a foodie pub, but would have to be level 4 before that would be kibosh-ed I think!

It's hard to know because the level 2 for Dublin isn't same as level 2 for rest of country so presume same for level 3. It's hard to know exact set of measures but with level 3 in Dublin wouldn't be majorly surprised if all food pubs are shut

There isn't a whole pile of difference between level 2 and 3, it starts to get serious after that.

Like the previous road map... this one will be torn up and discarded when required. The last one didn't stick to all of the pre-stated conditions or timelines. This one will be no different.

When needs must. it will be binned - in light of new evidence, or best practice or in response to urgent developments etc.

I probably shouldn't post this, some likely to believe this might work.

Probably alright with traveling In .. but hotel might not honour the booking . I know with kildare lockdown some hotels cancelled bookings for those traveling from kildare.
In level 3 hotels are still permitted to stay open. They won't be policing the origin of their guests.

It's only at level 4 that they're not permitted to allow non-essential guests, but tbh I expect most hotels will honour any bookings if it comes to that.

Just thinking how much more credibility the Government could have had if they'd had just come out on Monday and put Dublin at level 3. I used to give out that they were too reactionary in relation to this virus, they can't even manage that at the moment.

Me and my family are completely unpanicked, including my father who’s a healthcare worker. Just an observation that there does seem to be more panic around in general.

I wasn't suggesting that you are. Apologies if it came across as such. I think myself that the chicken littles are getting more panicked, partly because they fear that they won't get another lockdown.

They've made a bolli$ of this 5 level thing, it's too prescriptive and ties their own hands unneccessarily.

For example - if house gatherings are the issue, ban all house gatherings for 3 weeks. If gyms become an issue, close all gyms. Why, in order to do these, you then have to stop my 6 yo daughter playing hockey, is an utter nonsense. Or my dad watching AIL rugby outside from the sidelines.

I'm not one to criticise generally and have a positive spin mostly, but this approach is nuts.

It think it would have reflected much better on them, because it would show that they stand behind the roadmap and individual levels.

Agreed it looks out of date as is. If this had been published in July August it might have made some sense.

at 5% case growth per day we could go from 200 cases per day to about 3,000 cases per day in less than 8 weeks.

I'm not saying that's going to happen, but it's our current trajectory

We could have 3000 if we tested 150,000 people tomorrow, only way were getting to 3000 cases a day is with a massive ramp in testing. If we get to 3000 a day it's over, we've done a sweden on it.

    That's a great point

    3000 a day is impossible

We are not getting to 25% test prevalence

We have been at 0.5% to 1.5% for months

Even 2.5% prevalence is a way off

If they'd put Dublin at Level 3 then the "wet" pubs would have had to open. It's such a shambles!

Covid has made it clear how many narcissists are out there. People with symptoms going to stylists and gyms etc and spreading this thing when they could spend two whole weeks of their exciting lives self isolating. They put their dull me me me lives ahead of people actually living or dying or going through months of hell. And even if you dont care about deaths, these people are the types prolonging the economic and social chaos. Good people!

Wondering if they held off on putting Dublin at Level 3/3.5 while they ironed out some of the details for Level 3. For example in restaurants it says indoor eating is allowed but there'd be additional measures - maybe now allowing time to work out what on earth that means (restaurants being, for me, my outlet and it's just the husband and I going so we're not even mixing households).

If everyone who has been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid has taken all recommended precautions then why would it be necessary for that person to inform his or her GP of contact with those people. In that case, contact-tracing causes unnecessary anxiety.

Scenario: If Person A, who had been diagnosed, informs the GP of being in contact with Person B, and it's just A's word against B's, what if B denies having contact with A?

why is nobody asking any questions about the pcr cycles being used in Ireland. we are hunting for noninfectious cases and making massive economic and social decisions based on flawed data.

So SD was not negative, he was no covid detected.

Surely that could mean he is asymptomatic?

Depends on the individual circumstances I guess. Close contacts will be contacted. Casual contacts may be also in certain instances. Maybe people provide details in order to prevent those people from passing it on to others even if risk is low?

More info on casual contacts here: https://www2.hse.ie/conditions/coronavirus/close-contact-and-casual-contact.html

No asymptomatic would be testing positive without symptoms

Speculating but, the rule of 1hr and 45mins is only applied to establishments that CAN'T provide social distancing of 2 metres. Can stay as long as you want in places that can.

So, with that in mind, maybe it would be 1hr 45 mins for all?

I don't know. This world doesn't make sense to me anymore tbh

Fergal Bowers reporting NPHET has recommended level 3 for Dublin now with additional measures. No change for any other county.

Won't Cabinet only consider it tomorrow though?

Based on what Harris is saying they won’t be changing anything, given most is online anyway
