Watch "The Social Dillemma" on Netflix - eye opening.

A similar type of people would be seeing similar tweets in their facebook/twitter timelines. This type of misinformation is not helpful.

    Scary stuff.

Saw that. Is it any wonder opinions have diverged so much on here? Everyone accuses everyone else of only looking at sources that confirm their pre-existing biases. But Google, Twitter , Youtube et al are programmed to feed our pre-existing biases. We all, or at least some of us, could be believing we are looking up information with an unbiased search and getting diverging links based on what we have previously viewed

    Would be worth testing this:

Not just minorities and meat plants.
The woman, a white-collar professional in her 20s, told Sundaram that despite having a headache, sore throat and fatigue she had again dined out, went shopping, went to the gym, had a long session with a stylist and visited her boyfriend, who was hosting visitors from abroad, an itinerary that put her in close contact with at least nine people.

“She’s been all over the place, even when symptomatic. People need to be more responsible,” said Sundaram.

I give it 4 weeks time before we see our equivalent of Italy in April it'll be a catastrophe

Like Italy in April? A rapidly declining outbreak where cases and deaths dropped massively a month?

And very likely to be why there are some delays in reporting cases, this so-called "backlog".

What the hell does a discredited story in the UK about Professor Whitty have to do about possible figures today for Ireland

You said story is discredited. Given media focus on lockdown in UK I don't believe you are correct.

What happens in UK is likely to happen here also as numbers rising similarly.

Hard to live or plan little more than a few days at a time lately. Think of Dubliners with staycations booked in next few weeks/months.

Going to the west tomorrow morning and wondering if I’ll be allowed back to Dublin on the train on Monday 😳

Many people have been behaving recklessly. This is the main driver here. I told before of a case at work (suspect case, we trace and send home work contacts of anyone sent for test - they were negative). They had gone to a house party with 25 colleagues on the Saturday night. If the individual had been positive, production capacity on a life saving product would have been reduced by about 20% for 2 weeks, potentially impacting hospital supplies.

People aren't being asked to be hermits. But a bit of cop on wouldn't go astray.

It’s all well and good preaching about someone with 80 contacts or whatever but the fact is the average number of contacts per person remains at 6, with a median of 4

My social life is such that it would take me about 8 years to gather 80 close contacts.

Can you not understand the story ?

Nobody said there isn't reports about a second lockdown coming out of the UK but the Daily Mail said Professor Whitty wanted a second lockdown which is not true

He should have said it's a very concerning crossroads he's at not we. 23 extra ICU beds 9mts into the pandemic. Your fired.
