So, when are we all expecting level 3.
    I'm Guessing Monday

If level 3 can stop this current rise it's not really a big price to pay. They should do it now and not wait.

So, if I limit my travel outside Dublin, but choose to go on my booked staycation, can I stay in a hotel? Only myself and the wife going. Or is that "meeting" with more than 1 household if there are other guests?
Now , now p and g, I know darn well know you are intelligent and can figure that one out your self.:).. if the hotel is keeping the guidelines/rules they are meant to, you really shouldn't be mixing with other households, unless you join others at a table in a bar for example, Treat yourself and others as a possible case.

If you stayed in Dublin would you meet more households?
Do you have or interact with high risk others?
Are you prepared to isolate if needed when you come back?
Do you have to go/can you pospone?

Is it for your/partners mental health?
What is your accepatable level of risk how does it fit in with the risk for others/country?
Do a pro and con list

are you sharing a bedroom with others????;)

What does your consciousness tell you do do?

Only you can answer the above, just make sure you can be contact traced.

Yes it is, have family in other European countries where the situation is pretty similar to here in terms of case numbers going up but they say there's not half as much panic as there is when they watch the Irish news.

They have their restrictions but getting on much better daily than we are.

My point is that its purely down to our shambles of a healthcare system, feel sorry for those who work in it

There is another reason instead of fear that is definitely more to the fore in Ireland , there is respect for the virus live life but respect it.

Talks about me like what, saying I'm more susceptible to a virus if I'm in my 80s with underlying conditions ?

People would nearly be better off letting close contacts know themselves.

That's what I had planned doing had I tested positive. I had planned to screenshot my results as proof. Individuals might respond, but eg if I had been positive and informed the two hotels and four cafes I had visited in previous week I bet they would not want to know unless the info came directly from an authority.

Don’t be ridiculous. Schools aren’t closing, get over it.

But what WILL work? Amazing how the spike dovetailed with the reopening of schools. Outbreaks and family (Not community) transmission seems to be the main route.

They are blaming everything and everyone but schools. It’s obvious to me anyway but hey lock up everyone else.

Whatever level they go to doesn’t matter if they don’t get the testing and tracing up to speed. Clearly the public servants aren’t up to it so they need to bring in professionals to get it working properly. Accountability is required here as they have failed the country.

We were advised not so long ago that we should staycation rather that go on foreign holidays. Now we are advised not to staycation but foreign holidays to green-list countries are OK.
.......or maybe I’ve got that wrong?

Glad you didn't test positive. Yeah was more thinking close contacts that someone knows personally like friends and family. Not sure about cafes say. Think could be close contacts from that but contact tracing team would need to investigate. Info on casual ones here.

So, the aerosol theory of transmission is bunkum?

I’ve no idea but this is what I was told by someone in the medical profession, I couldn’t get the virus even if someone was walking past me several time’s if none of us were wearing masks unless that person coughed or sneezed directly into my face

The r rate is skewed by the high numbers in Dublin. Last week it was decreasing towards 1 without Dublin included.

Nolan has said the rate for entire country and for Dublin is similar. Therefore the rate for the other 25 counties is the same as Dublin.

There was a difference last week. Not this week.

Organisers should be fine and jailed. Or would that only make a martyr of these utter cretins?

I've noticed an increase in people believing all the misinformation posted lately on Facebook regarding the virus.

As a result you have healthy young people going around not bothering with masks etc and sharing other unsubstantiated nonsense as if it is fact. Hard ask to stop but probably a small part of why cases are increasing.

Would love to see it called out. A very good documentary on netflix at the minute called the social dilemma and it goes through a piece on Covid misinformation.

I unfollowed one person posting anti mask nonsense on her Instagram stories and a friend did the same. I thought many more would unfollow but she has increased her following in the past month.

That worked very well in UK with Deloite testing.. Need to expand pool of contact tracers clearly.

Didn’t they say that a lot of the cases in the schools came from within their own homes and the infection didn’t originate from the school

I’m really surprised nobody has thought of having a fake news fact check website. Basically debunk the bullsh*t and fact check stories circulating. If it got big enough they could at least shed light on the massive amount of irresponsible stuff out there.

How is it when some counties are only have 1-3 cases every couple of days. They’re trying to get people to be scared and isolate and f**k your mental health!!

There is a full thread of them right here on this forum. They've been winding each other up about how stupid every restriction is for months.
