How many cases makes it an outbreak? Or does it vary?

Negative test result back for my 10 year old. Spoke to GP at 3 yesterday, got test by 6. Result at 5 today. So 25 hours in total, 23 hour wait from test. That seems pretty decent.

I've been waiting over a day for our GP to call us back about arranging a test. This is despite multiple calls and emails to them!

Ronan Glynn is giving one at 6pm I think.

Virgin media saying he's unhappy with the way Gov released the plan and the timing of it.
He said it was unfortunate timing, not that he was unhappy.

If ever there was a clear illustration of how bonkers all these rules relating to the hospitality and travel sectors the above image is clear as day.

We can see where the problem is!!!

It's saying 537 open outbreaks in private houses. That means Alcohol is the driver.

What's the odds on them banning alcohol in supermarkets and off licenses. That's the root cause.

Workplaces and Nursing homes still an issue also.

Cluster linked to school, so 2 or more cases that can be linked back to the setting

Read up on prohibition in USA 1920s. People drank more, organised crime flourished and black market/loss of taxes etc. Sounds good in theory as does communism. Reality is very different.

Looking for clarification - There are in and around 100 odd schools with cases and there are 13 clusters in schools. So does that mean that out of the 100 schools affected then in 13 of those there is evidence of spread within the school. Is this a correct interpretation ? if not can some one explain what it means.

    tks

Likely to be questions today in the presser about conflicts between decisions government has made about Dublin and advice given by NPHET.

How did you make that connection!?

Why are they tearing apart our economy when the problem is in the home!?

They are scapegoating the cause of the spread on the hospitality sector, sport and the demon Pubs yet over 80% of the cases are in the home!!!!!

they say they won't decide on moving to level 3 till tmw, so todays press conference is going to be a lot of non-answers

Dublin HSE areas overlain on Google map.

The HSE map is less accurate so they don't fit exactly; actual boundaries are likely roads, parks etc.

I know. I've seen Ken Burns Prohibition documentary.

I mean short term measure to limit the house party's and get numbers down.

They are going to have to choose between pubs or house party's because people will not put up with not socialising in the long term.

If they choose pubs alcohol should be banned in supermarkets and off licenses

George Lee back to his usual "prophet of doom" worst this evening. I know things are bad, but this was just cringeworthy and beyond scaremongering. Absolutely no need for this from the former Fg deputy.
